This position will report to the OHD Learning and Development Manager and will be part of the Learning and Development (L&D) Team, responsible for supporting the implementation of Metro’s learning and development priorities.In this role, you will be responsible for curriculum development, coordination, facilitation, delivery, and continuous improvement of Metro-wide learning programs that allow employees to develop and thrive, while ensuring a culture of well-being and belonging is fostered. The Metro Learning and Development Team collaborates closely with King County Human Resource Department’s Learning and Development Team to replicate the central training program and deliver and modify training as needed, to meet Metro’s unique workforce needs.Metro is committed to providing transportation services that connect all people and all communities of King County, focusing on the equitable distribution of our service and the equitable application of our work (inside and outside the agency), and combating climate change by doing our work in a sustainable manner. Metro is King County’s largest Department, employing over 5,000 people who primarily work in the field of transit operations, vehicle maintenance, transit facilities operations, and marine.This recruitment is open to King County employees and the general public. This recruitment also creates an eligibility pool to fill future career service positions that may occur in the next six months at the discretion of the hiring authority.In this role, you will apply equity and social justice principles that exemplify shared values, behaviors, and practices to all aspects of the work.As an Educator Consultant II, you will:• Design and develop impactful in-person and online learning experiences and materials (includes e-learning, video, job aids, infographics, in-person activities, and webinars) to foster employee growth, supporting Metro’s training initiatives for a healthy workplace culture• Implement and facilitate learning programs – both in-person and virtual settings (Zoom)• Support the evaluation and assessment of trainings and learning programs, utilizing data to identify opportunities for continuous improvement in curriculum to meet business goals• Help move project plans and deliverables forward• Demonstrate flexibility when projects change, collaborating with the L&D team to offer solutions, and project plan adjustments• Facilitate cross-functional collaboration, building strong relationships with stakeholders and subject matter experts to ensure alignment, engagement, and effective expectation management throughout the content design and development process.• Understand learning barriers and provide strategic and effective learning solutions.• Support the development and implementation of a series of train-the-trainer engagements supporting Metro’s learning and development priorities• Contribute to integrating equity and social justice principles into learning and development• Provide consultation and coaching to SMEs in other divisions on facilitation skills and best practices to develop and deliver information to adult learners• Have a proven ability to assess and revise development materials, including but not limited to images, text, e-learning modules, and videos• Provide design support and guidance to the other Organizational Health and Development initiatives and program leads as needed• Evaluate new approaches and innovations in instructional design, and drive conversations with the team to share knowledge proactively• Assist coordination of the logistics of all trainings including the scheduling, participant communications, and other logistics support for both virtual and in-person trainings• Serve as a SME for e-learning course authoring (Articulate Storyline and Rise), including implementation support, content editing and creation, and adaption of trainings to digital formats• Support other duties requested and prioritized by the section and division leadership, in support of Metro’s learning and development priorities• Minimum of three years of experience designing curricula, coordinating programs, and facilitating intergroup training or education courses OR any equivalent combination of experience and education which provides the applicant with the desired skills, knowledge, and ability required to perform the work• Ability to successfully engage and work with employees at all levels of understanding of different learning topics and at all levels of the organization• Skill in analyzing, designing, developing, implementing, piloting, and evaluating to create dynamic and effective learning solutions and performance support tools• Ability to present comfortably in front of large and small groups using creative presentation and facilitation techniques that engage the audience to create safe and accessible learning environments• Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, collaboration, and presentation skills, including the effective use of visuals and graphics• Extensive knowledge and experience in leading trainings on essential Equity and Social Justice principles, including topics such as race, social identities, and the critical role of leadership in fostering equitable and inclusive work environments• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office software, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams+• Advanced skills in Zoom and other online platforms for delivering training and surveys• Demonstrated experience supporting complex projects and/or programs, including planning, strategy, implementation, marketing, and evaluationHighly competitive candidates will also have:• Demonstrated experience in implementing trainings on topics such as:• Anti-discrimination, harassment, inappropriate conduct training• Conflict engagement, Critical Conversations, or similar curricula• Leadership Development• Unconscious bias• Race and racism, intersectionality, gender equity, ableism, and other social justice topics• Experience with ADDIE Model of Design and Kirkpatrick Model of Evaluation• Advanced skills in Articulate (Rise and Storyline), Qualtrics, PowerBI, other E-learning course authoring tools, SharePoint, Canva, Visio, Monday.comWho May ApplyThis recruitment These positions are exempt from the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act and are not eligible for overtime pay. Work schedule is normally Monday through Friday, 40-hour work week. Frequency of onsite work will vary based on business and operational needs.
