Job Summary:


We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Cisco Network Administrator to manage and support our Cisco network infrastructure. In this role, you will oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of our Cisco-based network systems, ensuring high availability, performance, and security across all network operations. The ideal candidate has deep knowledge of Cisco technologies, excellent problem-solving abilities, and the expertise to lead network initiatives and mentor junior administrators. This is a 6 month contract to hire and requires an active Top Secret clearance or higher.


Responsibilities:
  • Network Management & Configuration:
  • Design, configure, and manage Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and other network components.
  • Implement and monitor network protocols, routing, and switching technologies (e.g., OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, VLAN, VPN).
  • Configure, troubleshoot, and optimize Cisco network devices and ensure high availability.
  • Security & Compliance:
  • Manage and maintain network security appliances, including firewalls and intrusion prevention/detection systems.
  • Develop and implement security protocols to safeguard network data and resources, including VPN configurations and firewall policies.
  • Stay current with industry best practices and regulatory requirements, implementing security measures as needed.
  • Troubleshooting & Support:
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting support for complex network issues.
  • Conduct regular performance assessments, proactively addressing issues before they impact operations.
  • Serve as an escalation point for network-related incidents, providing guidance and support to junior team members.
  • Project Management:
  • Lead network infrastructure projects, from planning through execution, ensuring projects meet timelines and budgets.
  • Collaborate with IT teams and stakeholders to align network infrastructure with business goals.
  • Document network design, configuration, and operational processes, updating documentation as systems evolve.
  • Mentorship & Training:
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior network administrators and IT staff.
  • Assist in developing training materials and best practices for network management and troubleshooting.
