Job Description

NBCUniversal is seeking a highly skilled Manager of End User Computing Engineering to lead a team dedicated to managing and evolving the Windows endpoint computing environment. This individual will be instrumental in driving key projects, improving operational support, and enhancing system reliability across a large-scale infrastructure.

This individual will be responsible for managing and supporting the enterprise Windows workstation environment, which includes:

  • Lead team members on diverse endpoint computing projects and initiatives that enhance efficiency and user experience.
  • Collaborate with application and business technology teams to support their hosted application or desktop platforms, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance.
  • Automate requests, builds, and provisioning processes to streamline Windows environment management.
  • Improve patch and vulnerability compliance across the entire workstation ecosystem, aligning with security best practices.
  • Drive operational support enhancements, improving request handling and support processes for Windows systems.
  • Oversee problem management activities, providing tier-three support for escalated issues and ensuring timely resolution.
  • Provide hands-on training and support to operations and engineering staff as required.
  • Leverage expertise in OS and application troubleshooting to address internal and external escalations effectively.
  • Proven experience leading and mentoring teams in end-user computing engineering.
  • Ability to identify, plan, and drive projects that improve system performance and enhance the user experience.
  • Strategic mindset with a focus on continuous improvement in system health, compliance, and operational support.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 7+ years of experience in Information Technology, with 5+ years in desktop/end user systems engineering and administration, preferably in a large enterprise setting (30,000+ endpoints)
  • Comfortable with IT security and compliance best practices
  • Proficient in automated workstation build methodologies, software packaging, and deployment systems.
  • Experienced with automation and scripting languages such as Ansible, Bash, Perl, Python, and PowerShell.
  • Extensive familiarity with Intune, AutoPilot, SCCM, Nexthink, Active Directory, and M365.
  • Proficient in implementing, deploying, and supporting MDM (Mobile Device Management) tools and infrastructure.
  • Able to communicate effectively with personnel at all levels and external vendors as necessary
  • Has the interpersonal skills necessary to interact and work productively with the Operations, Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, Application, and Leadership teams
  • Able to work independently and lead a team of engineers

Additional Requirements:

  • Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.

This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks. Salary range: $145,000 - $175,000 (bonus eligible)
