This position will be employed through a third party company working remotely throughout the U.S.

BFW Publishing Group (part of Macmillan Learning) is looking for a part-time Marketing Assistant (Contract) to support our High School Marketing team. This role is ideal for College Juniors and Seniors, Recent Grads and early-career professionals, or those with publishing and/or marketing experience seeking flexible, part-time work.

You’ll help execute a variety of marketing tasks—from building polished email campaigns in Marketo (our top priority!) to supporting product marketing with customer-facing tools like flyers and slide decks. The ideal candidate has an eye for good design, strong attention to detail, and is comfortable toggling between creative and administrative work.

Because this is a remote role, we’re looking for someone who communicates clearly, meets deadlines reliably and can be transparent about progress and workload.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Build and format emails in Marketo (key focus area).
  • Create and update marketing and sales tools like flyers, presentations and sell sheets.
  • Support basic desktop publishing needs —text layout, image placement and formatting.
  • Assist with AP Summer Institute efforts:
  • Review submitted rosters and send marketing materials through Salesforce.
  • Identify patterns or issues and propose more efficient processes.
  • Apply critical thinking to catch anything that looks off or signals a new opportunity.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as:
  • Cleaning up data or customer lists.
  • Entering orders and requests with accuracy.
  • Organizing internal documentation and project plans.
  • Assist with social media scheduling and light content creation.
  • Proofread marketing copy and assets.
  • Potential for exposure to:
  • Basic video editing.
  • Copywriting and messaging.
  • Graphic design

What We’re Looking For:

  • A junior or senior in a degree program, recent college graduate, or someone with relevant professional experience seeking part-time work.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organization.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfort working remotely—can manage time effectively, keep others updated, and ask questions when needed.
  • A critical thinker who can spot inconsistencies or inefficiencies in data-heavy processes and suggest improvements.
  • Familiarity with tools like Google Workspace and/or Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with platforms like Marketo, Salesforce or Canva is a plus.
  • Experience taking AP courses a plus.
  • A creative eye and ability to design clear, customer-facing materials.
  • Self-starter who can work independently and juggle multiple projects

An interest in both educational publishing and marketing is highly valued. Many former intern-level contractors have successfully transitioned into full-time roles at BFW/Macmillan Learning, taking on positions such as Marketing Assistant, Editorial Assistant, Account Manager, and Sales Representative.

Pay Rate: $16.50/hour

Hours: 10–20 hours per week (The schedule is flexible for the ideal candidate, though preference is given to working hours between Monday and Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM).
