Responsibilities: Assist production editors with proofreading, prepare manuscripts for design and typesetting, review text for revisions, copyedit jacket/cover copy, and coordinate freelancer resources.
Skills: Strong organizational and communication skills, knowledge of grammar, attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines, and experience with digital text markup.
Qualifications: Administrative or internship experience preferably in publishing, excellent computer and communication skills, and a strong interest in children's books.

Macmillan Children’s Publishing Group is seeking a detail-oriented individual with a good eye for grammar and a passion for all types of children’s books to be a Production Editorial Assistant. The production editorial assistant provides proofreading and administrative support to our team of production editors and managing editors, as well as assistance with timely trafficking of a variety of materials and maintenance of clear and accurate title information. They will check for quality assurance of text, illustrations and photos, and jackets/covers for numerous stages of book production, from manuscript to finished books.
