Sales – Job Duties
JOB PURPOSE: The sales representative provides fast, friendly service by actively seeking out customers to assess their needs and provide assistance. Sales Associates, Sales Leads and Showroom Managers specialize in product knowledge, providing information on product features, and knowing related items to sell an entire project. Employees in this position know how to greet, qualify, recommend and close every client in their showroom. Sales Associates, Sales Leads and Showroom Managers maintain the condition of the showroom and ensure that it is clean, customer ready, and safe. Each employee has the responsibility of providing a safe working and shopping environment by following all safety policies and standards. Employees must complete specified safety training and immediately correcting hazards, unsafe conditions or report said conditions and or hazards to the Manager on Duty. Employees must work safely as not to endanger themselves, co-workers and or customers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Greet / acknowledge all customers
2. Ability to demonstrate furniture features (i.e., demonstrate how a recliner functions)
3. Process sales orders, complete financing paperwork
4. Maintain display models
5. Discuss available options (good, better, best)
6. Set and achieve personal sales goals
7. Read daily, weekly, monthly sales reports
8. Assist with inventory control
9. Utilize excellent customer service skills
10. Performs related duties as assigned
Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: (The following qualifications can be acquired and demonstrated through experience, education and/or vocational training as noted or as appropriate.)
1. Communication skills: Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents; ability to respond to inquiries of complaints from customers /employees, ability to effectively present information to top management, middle management or employees. Ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations. Ability to write clearly and informatively; edit work for English structure usage.
2. Computer skills: Ability to work with word processing, spreadsheet and database software applications.
3. Problem solving skills: Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner; gathers and analyze information skillfully; develop alternative solutions; work well in group problem solving situations; use reason even when dealing with emotional topics.
4. Project Management skills: Ability to develop project plans; coordinates projects; communicate changes and progress; complete projects on time and budget; manage project team activities.
5. Visionary Leadership skills: Ability to display passion and optimism; inspire respect and trust; mobilizes others to fulfill the vision; provides vision and inspiration to peers and subordinates.
6. Strategic Thinking skills: Ability to develop strategies to achieve organizational goals; understand organization's strengths & weaknesses; adapt strategy to changing conditions.
7. Safety and Security skills: Ability to observe safety and security procedures; determines appropriate action beyond guidelines; report potentially unsafe conditions; uses equipment and materials properly.
OTHER WORK EXPECTATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
Retain and comprehend information in order to receive and follow instructions, read, interpret, compare and analyze data, research information in order to resolve problems, identify issues requiring further attention, corrections and/or make recommendations, then take preventive actions; process facts and apply judgments, communicate with others to provide or obtain information. Demonstrate adaptability and flexibility to changing priorities, deadlines, demands and assignments while maintaining cohesive and harmonious working relationships. Establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with others related to learning, problem solving, backup support and fostering team support. Perform repetitive key strokes to compile and prepare documents, reports and correspondence.
