Position Overview


The Sales Engineer supports the sales and BD teams in securing solar projects. Serving as a technical voice in the sales process, the Sales Engineer builds trust with clients by articulating the benefits of the Nevados All Terrain Tracker (ATT), emphasizing its product and design advantages. Responsibilities include identifying high-potential opportunities through site and customer evaluations, addressing technical inquiries, collaborating with sales and engineering teams for optimized project designs and customer experiences, and ensuring adherence to Nevados's standards for all customer files and communications. Effective communication, collaboration, and feedback provision are integral to serving customers and advancing our product line. 


Responsibilities:
  • Become an expert in the Nevados product and project design processes to field technical questions and educate customers on design best practices. 
  • Optimize projects in pre-sales phase specifically with an eye for civil, grading, and hydrology.  
  • Shepherd new customers as they evolve their design strategies to use industry-changing terrain-following trackers. Help them break old design habits from continuous torque-tube trackers. 
  • Conduct design reviews for various aspects of solar projects, including layout optimization, grading, civil and hydrology considerations, and value engineering. 
  • Work cross-functionally to ensure alignment between technical specifications, project timelines, and client expectations. 
  • Stay current on industry trends, advancements, and regulatory requirements related to solar plant design optimization, and incorporate relevant insights into project strategies and approaches. 
  • Partner with Business Development and Inside Sales to create a seamless customer experience. 
  • Educate and provide input to customers on civil design considerations with Nevados ATT, tailoring tech demos of our product to each client, addressing their pain points to increase conversion rates.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field 
  • Experience in civil and hydrology engineering for utility-scale solar 
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil3D, and Excel 
  • Experience in topographical analysis a plus 
  • Excellent project management skills, including task prioritization, resource management, and risk mitigation. 
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills 
  • Coding experience is a plus (AutoCAD scripting)
  • Comfortable and professional working with customers and outside engineers 


$90,000 - $125,000 a year
These ranges indicate base salary. See more regarding total compensation packages below. Actual compensation will be determined based on candidate experience, skillset, and location.

Nevados offers competitive base salary, bonus, commission (if applicable to the role) and stock options commensurate with qualifications and experience.
