Responsibilities
- Provide solution-oriented legal advice to guide the product development.
- Review, draft, and negotiate various agreements, including content licensing, advertising agreement, and service agreements, ensuring compliance with contractual and statutory requirements.
- Draft and manage the user agreements, terms of services for products or business, and privacy policies.
- Stay current on applicable laws, regulations, and industry practices, advising internal stakeholders on legislative and regulatory changes affecting the products or business.
- Identify, interpret, and advise on various legal issues and associated risks.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with diverse teams.
Requirements:
- JD degree and California Bar admission in good standing (or California Registered In-House Counsel).
- 5+ years of relevant legal experience working on technology-related issues, with at least 1 year of in-house experience ideally.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the content platform, media landscape, and digital advertising business.
- Expertise in copyright, data privacy, content policy, and media law.
- Ability to quickly understand product and business needs and propose creative solutions while minimizing legal risk.
- Excellent communication skills and demonstrate resilience in the dynamic, fast-paced startup environment.
