What we’re looking for: 

Nexamp is seeking to hire a Tax Director to join our Accounting team. You will be responsible for continuing to develop and enhance tax strategy and compliance. You will work on strategic tax initiatives, including maximizing benefits from the Investment Tax Credit (ITC) and related bonuses, and navigating the complexities of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), while continually ensuring compliance with all federal and state tax requirements. In addition, you will assist in tax equity financings and reviews of complex tax equity structures as well as managing annual and quarterly tax provisions for financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting requirements.

You will be hybrid out of any of our hub office locations, including: Boston, Chicago, Washington DC, or New York City. You will report to the SVP, Accounting.   

What you’ll do:  

  • Oversight and accountability for direct and indirect tax compliance activities including, Federal, State, Local and Foreign Tax including filings and response to notices and audits
  • Lead tax planning, budgeting and forecasting with internal team and external advisors
  • Oversee and manage the process for claiming and monetizing Investment Tax Credits
  • Manage sales and use tax for the company ensuring proper reporting and remittance
  • Monitor and summarize new legislation and tax developments
  • Collaborate with People team and Legal team on new registrations and legal entities established
  • Provide advice to business groups on various tax matters including eligibility for state, local or federal tax incentives
  • Coordinate with tax advisors annual tax provision workpapers in accordance with US GAAP and IFRS
  • Prepare and manage tax policies, processes and controls including documenting tax positions
  • Coordinate with tax advisors on annual returns for Corporate and Partnership tax returns
  • Coordinate with and support key investors related to Corporate and Partnership tax matters
  • Support Policy team on federal, state and local tax matters including navigating the Inflation Reduction Act and related tax credits and adders
  • Business partner on project level structured financings (including tax equity), working closely with the CFO, the Capital Markets team and the in-house legal team
  • Manage and train staff within the tax group
  • Other ad hoc projects as assigned

What you’ll bring:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum 5-7 years of related tax experience
  • MBA, MST, CPA or equivalent strongly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. Corporate Tax and Partnerships
  • Knowledge US GAAP and IFRS Accounting for Income Taxes
  • Knowledge and Experience with Tax Credits
  • Knowledge of tax equity financing structures, including partnership flips and sale-leasebacks

  • Demonstrated experience in effectively communicating information, ideas, and perspectives with people inside and beyond your organization.

Compensation:  

The reasonably estimated salary for this role at Nexamp ranges from $165,000 - $180,000. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual bonus programs based on individual and company performance, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans). Additionally, you may be eligible to participate in the Company’s stock option plan. Actual base salary may vary based upon, but is not limited to, skills and qualifications, internal equity, performance, and geographic location.
