Location: Arlington, VA
Schedule: Monday through Friday, an 8-hour shift, between the hours of 7:30 am – 6:00 pm
Starting Wage Range – $24.36 per hour | Full Wage Range – $24.36 - $28.98 per hour

What You Will Do
- Be attentive and provide exceptional, professional customer service to Amazonians, clients, contractors, and visitors.
- As a Senior, you will be able to staff more complex reception desks independently.
- Partner with Receptionist on multi-person desks.
- Participate in or lead special projects as assigned.
- Manage inventory at desks, if at single-reception desk, and communicate needs to Lead Receptionist.
- Support Banana Stand and Special Events as needed.
Will be responsible for overall operation of the front desk and front office activities to include, but not limited to:
- Facilitate the opening and/or closing of service locations.
- Responsible for building knowledge, and understanding current and future scheduled events/maintenance/and service provider locations.
- Follow proper procedures to hang and maintain customer posters in all buildings ensuring a presentable environment at all times
- Work collaboratively across the organization, as well as with Amazon employees and other vendor partners, ensuring the Northwest Center team is always acting as a solutions provider to our customer and vendor partners.
- Ensure physical presence of lobby & workrooms exceed overall visual presence expectations and required standards.
- Verbally welcome customers upon entrance.
- Act as the point of reference for guests & Amazon employees who need assistance or information.
- Utilize organization-specific computer programs to check-in guests and confirm validity prior to entering Amazon space and issue badges.
- Provide support to customers via phone, email or in person to callers, visitors, community members, vendor partners and all guests.
- Help resolve any escalations with guests and visitors in a professional and polite manner. Maintain office security by following security procedures and controlling access via the reception desk.
Who You Are
- Proof of U.S. Citizenship is required. Some buildings may qualify as Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) and may require U.S. citizenship for background checks.
- High School Diploma
- Experience operating a front desk environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills required along with polite and professional phone etiquette.
- Positive, upbeat attitude and able to get along with everyone.
- Must be reliable and punctual with excellent organizational skills.
- Must have demonstrated ability to juggle multiple priorities.
- Above average communication skills preferred.
- Experience using MS Office suite of products preferred
- Excellent in-person customer service skills.
- Ability to practice a high level of confidentiality.
- Ability to maintain composure and good judgment in fast-paced, high-stress environments.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands
- Must be able to potentially lift or carry items up to 50 pounds.
- May need to carry supplies to other buildings.
- Requires travel to several Amazon buildings so the ability to walk consistently within a 1.5 radius is required.
- The position requires standing and mobility around the campus for long periods of time up to the entire length of the shift.
- Ability to work independently and out of line of sight from other team members for all or part of shift.
- Ability to work on a tablet/computer.
- Ability to read, write, speak and comprehend the English language.
- Ability to see both distance and details at close range, within a few feet of the observer (with or without corrective lenses).
- Ability to identify and understand the speech of another person (with or without a personal auditory hearing device).
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business, including occasionally arriving early, staying late on a moment’s notice and occasional evening.
