The Patient Care Technician reflects the mission, vision, and values of Northwestern Memorial, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.
The Patient Care Technician’s primary function is to assist and support the Professional Registered Nurse in all aspects of direct and indirect patient care activities. The Patient Care Technician functions as a member of the unit staff under the direction and supervision of the professional Registered Nurse.

Here, you’ll play an essential role in providing direct and indirect care to our patients, ensuring they feel comfortable and supported during their stay. Your evenings will be busy and fulfilling, as you’ll be working two 8-hour shifts per week, from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, with alternating weekends. In this position, you’ll assist our Professional Registered Nurses with a variety of tasks, including monitoring vital signs, assisting with patient admissions and discharges, and even providing care to our newborns.
