Specialist, Event and Scheduling Support

Job Description

The University of Nevada, Reno at Lake Tahoe is recruiting for a Specialist, Event and Scheduling Support.  This position is responsible for assisting with the Events and Conferencing group operations. The position will assist in scheduling events and housing, set up and tear down of events, and facilitate day to day coordination of group’s needs. The incumbent may be responsible for giving support to these areas in relation to off hours and possibly outside of a Monday through Friday work schedule. The position will supervise student employees. 

Duties include but are not limited to: 

  • Working with the Lake Tahoe Wayne Prim campus Event Coordinator, collect, process, and monitor the progress of event logistics to ensure all requests are processed in a timely and professional manner.

  • Maximize facility usage by determining appropriate space for university group and sponsored outside group meetings, conferences, and events while accommodating the needs of the planner.

  • Collaborate with university service providers (Police Services, Parking, Facilities, etc.)  in reviewing scheduled event support services, ensuring support services are scheduled.

  • Creation of organizational processes and documents

  • Provide support with the key control process; assisting instructor and event planners with key check-in/out.

  • Support cash/credit card sale transactions; ensuring timely processing in compliance with university and NSHE policies.

Required Qualifications

High School Graduation and three years of related work experience; OR an associate's degree and two years of related work experience; OR a bachelor's degree and one year of related work experience; OR a master's degree and no experience required.

Related Experience:  Customer service, program development, event support and/or coordination

Administrative Faculty - A
