Job Description

The Sr. Plant HR Manager is accountable for delivering human resources support across multiple manufacturing facilities (Danville, VA Plant and Winston-Salem, NC Plant).  A challenging and hands-on HR leadership role, it supports multiple sites by partnering with plant leadership teams to drive the implementation of HR processes and initiatives that promote a results-oriented and performance-driven culture. This position ensures consistency and alignment of HR strategies across sites while managing critical HR initiatives at both plant and regional levels. It is accountable for the administration and coordination of labor relations, employment/recruiting and staffing, benefits administration, wage & salary administration, affirmative action/EEO, employee relations, and community relations across all assigned locations.

The Sr. Plant HR Manager will:

  • Lead the execution of talent management processes, including recruiting & staffing, performance management, employee development, and succession planning across multiple sites.
  • Provide strategic HR counsel to plant managers and regional leadership, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
  • Lead labor and employee relations activities across multiple sites, including grievance administration, while ensuring compliance with collective bargaining agreements and local regulations.
  • Administer employee benefit and compensation programs and other HR company initiatives across the region.
  • Collaborate with the regional health and safety manager to improve safety performance and reduce workers’ compensation costs at each site.

The Sr. Plant HR Manager should have:

  • Experience evaluating and implementing HR  practices and programs across facilities to ensure consistency and address contemporary HR issues.
  • The ability to drive a high level of employee engagement and foster a unified organizational culture across all locations.
  • Expertise acting as a proactive and positive advocate for employees and the company, balancing the needs of both.
  • Experience partnering with plant leadership teams to implement and monitor HR-related metrics, driving continuous improvement initiatives.

 

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
This position will require travel between multiple manufacturing facilities within North America. Travel is expected to exceed 50%.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • A minimum of 7 to 10 years of professional experience in Human Resources, preferably in a multi-site manufacturing environment with modern HR practices.
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing HR processes and initiatives across multiple locations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems required.
  • Experience with labor relations in a unionized environment strongly preferred.

 

 REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:  This position reports to the Regional HR Business Partner, with dotted-line reporting to multiple Plant Managers. This position will manage HR Generalists and/or Paymasters for multiple manufacturing facilities.

Additional Information

What we offer at O-I:

Salary Range:  The expected salary range for this position is between $125,000 - $135,000 and includes a possible 15% quarterly incentive bonus. Actual pay will be adjusted based upon candidate experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
