About the Role

Okta’s University Recruiting team is growing in India. We are building a long-term, scalable program and are looking for a highly-motivated and passionate Lead University Recruiter to drive building the program to meet our exciting growth goals. Hiring top talent from universities is a crucial component of our talent strategy and requires significant investment to build the right brand and relationships to attract the best candidates. In this role, you will be part of the core University Recruiting team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong balance of campus recruiting and program management skills.

As a Lead University Recruiter, you will support intern and new grad hiring across India, overseeing full-cycle recruiting and managing all aspects of our University program. This includes leading and participating in UR events such as on-campus recruiting, building campus relationships, and organizing intern program events, along with additional projects and initiatives across UR. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead University Recruiting Strategy: Own the full recruiting lifecycle for both intern and new graduate positions across India. From job description development to sourcing, candidate evaluation, and successful conversion of interns, you will be responsible for executing a seamless and high-quality recruiting process.
  • Build Diverse Talent Pools: Develop and execute creative sourcing strategies to build diverse and high-quality candidate pools. Leverage innovative approaches to reach top talent from a variety of universities and backgrounds.
  • Candidate Experience Excellence: Ensure a high-touch, positive experience for all candidates throughout the recruitment process, from initial contact through internship program engagement and offer extension.
  • Drive Campus Engagement: Represent Okta at key campus events such as speaking engagements, information sessions, workshops, case competitions, and networking events. Promote Okta’s employer brand, highlighting career opportunities and building awareness.
  • University Partnerships: Cultivate and maintain relationships with key university stakeholders, including career services, faculty, and student organizations. Serve as the main point of contact for partner universities and help execute Okta’s campus engagement strategy.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with internal teams, including business leaders, total rewards, finance, and professional recruiting, to ensure alignment on recruiting goals and strategy.
  • Internship Program Leadership: Oversee the intern program, coordinating onboarding, event planning, and engagement. Monitor and evaluate intern performance, driving a high conversion rate from intern to full-time hire.

What you’ll bring to the role: 

  • Experience: 5+ years in university recruiting, with experience in tech or MBA recruiting considered a plus.
  • Innovation & Strategy: A passion for innovative recruiting approaches, continuously improving processes and introducing creative solutions to meet recruitment goals.
  • Mentorship: Experience coaching and mentoring junior recruiters, providing guidance, and collaborating with university recruiting leadership to drive program success.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional communication skills, with confidence in presenting to internal stakeholders and external university partners.
  • Adaptability: Thrive in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment with the ability to prioritize effectively.
  • Travel Availability: Willingness to travel during peak recruiting times (e.g., campus events).
