The Oregon State Police in La Grande, Oregon is hiring for one (1) Full-Time, Permanent Business Operations Supervisor 1 position. This is an in-office position without the option for Remote or Hybrid work.

The salary listed is the non-PERS (Public Employee Retirement System) qualifying salary range. Prior to applying you should ensure all sections of your Workday Job History page is accurate and complete. This information is utilized during the pay equity analysis phase.

Summary of Job Duties:

In this position, you will manage the day-to-day operations for the East Region Captain and staff and supervises the seven (7) Field Operations Bureau Administrative Specialist1's located at the Region's Area Commands. You will also oversee some administrative operations for the La Grande Area Command

In this position, you will provide administrative review, oversight, and recommendations for administrative functions throughout the offices in East Region. This position works with Area Commanders when hiring non-sworn employees.

You will assist the Region Captain and other agency management in the administration of agency programs and operations, and coordination of communications relating to the implementation and usage of those programs to Area Command and Work Site personnel throughout the Region.

Minimum Qualifications/Eligibility Requirements:

Three years of lead work, supervision, or progressively related experience; OR a bachelor’s degree in a related field.

Preferred Skills:

  • Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions and exercise good judgement.

  • Ability to use time efficiently and effectively to ensure outlined deadlines are met.

  • Ability to effectively articulate and exchange information using verbal and written communication with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook to include working with databases, auditing reports, and performing quality assurance.

  • Demonstrated experience interpreting policies, procedures, and / or statutes in a law enforcement environment.

Special Qualifications:

  • Must be LEDS certified or be able to obtain certification upon hire.

  • Must meet criteria to become State of Oregon Notary Public.

  • May be required to participate in State sponsored training to become a SPOTS card (Department credit card) holder for assigned office.  Must meet criteria and attend necessary training.
