Parkade's mission is to reshape cities and combat climate change by creating a world with far less parking, but one where it's a lot easier to park. Our hundreds of existing customers love Parkade, and investors do too — having just funded our Series A. We're now ready to get Parkade into every apartment, condo and office building and to do that, we need you.
We're looking for creative, strategic finance operator to join us as our first VP of Finance, and first finance/accounting employee, period.
We have hundreds of customers around the globe, are gliding toward $5m ARR in Q1, process $25m+ in payments annually and just closed $10m from our Series A from a syndicate of current a potential customers. This role is absolutely key to keeping Parkade on the path to hit $50m in ARR by the end of 2026, by building our the right process, team, reporting and strategy.
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field (MBA or advanced degree preferred).
10+ years of progressive experience in finance-leadership roles, with a focus on startups and growth-stage companies.
Proven track record of successfully raising capital from venture capital firms, angel investors, and other sources.
Strong financial modeling, analysis and spreadsheet skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and communicate insights effectively.
Solid understanding of financial reporting standards, GAAP principles, accounting, spreadsheets, and regulatory compliance requirements. You've worked closely with accounting in multiple roles.
Excellent operational skills across a mix of areas, from managing vendor relationships to keeping tabs on accounts receivable to overseeing a rotating mix of insurance needs.
Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Strategic thinker with a results-driven mindset and a strong focus on driving business growth and value creation.
Reporting: Take over Parkade's homespun data reporting system, and work cross-functionally to put more scaleable systems in place. Ensure metrics are accurate and visible to everyone who should have them.
FP&A: Partner with the CEO to move Parkade from a world without set budgets, to an annual, board-approved budget and forecast — and help define goals.
Accounting: Manage our outside accountant and eventually hire a controller.
AP: Pay bills, send invoices, reimburse employee expenses
AR: Ensure customers are paying, and work with sales/operations teams to improve related processes
Product: Partner with product, design, engineering and operations teams to push for changes to our product to improve unit economics, retention and growth.
Treasury: Manage our cash.
Tax: Review tax policies and ensure compliance.
Investor relations: Help prepare board decks, help with fundraising (process, due diligence, etc), update the VCs
Sales collaboration: manage revenue, pays sales commissions etc.
Misc: Help with options plans, 409(a), lease management, etc.
Risk control: D&O, insurance
We're a hybrid team with about half the company working out of our San Francisco office. We have a strong preference to hire someone located in/near San Francisco who's willing to be in our office regularly. If not in San Francisco, we have a very strong preference for someone in California or close by.
This role will report directly to Parkade's cofounder/CEO.
