Shelton Trucking, a PS Logistics company, is a flatbed trucking operation with a fleet of over 300 trucks.  Our corporate office is located in Altha, FL, with additional terminals in Jacksonville, FL and Saraland, AL.

Job Description

At Shelton Trucking, supporting our drivers is our main priority. We are looking for a Safety Assistant to be responsible for driver compliance under Hours of Service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities, include but are not limited to:

  • Monitor electronic logging devices for federal compliance
  • Monitor daily Hours of Service audit
  • Orientation presentation for Hours of Service
  • Train new drivers on electronic devices that record Hours of Service
  • Manage and track safety inventory installed into Commercial Vehicles
  • Other Safety duties as assigned

Qualifications

A Successful Safety Assistant must consistently demonstrate the company’s Mission and Values.  They must have good oral and written communication skills in order to effectively interact with customers, drivers and other team members in person and on the telephone. They must be customer service-oriented as well as team-oriented and must have good organizational skills. A successful Safety Assistant must be able to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously.  Finally, they must be able to work a flexible schedule when needed to including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
