Marine Fire Suppression Technician

We are looking for an experienced Marine Fire Suppression Technician to join our team in Seattle, WA.


This is a full-time non-exempt position reporting to work Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM with occasional overtime and out-of-state travel required.


Hourly range: $25-32 per hour depending on industry experience.


Essential Job Functions:


· Working on vessels of all sizes around the Puget Sound area and Western Washington with occasional travel to Alaska or other locations as requested by our customers;

· Performing the inspection, testing, maintenance, and installation of fire extinguishers, fire suppression systems (including CO2, Clean Agent, and Water Mist systems) and fire equipment (such as SCBAs, fire hoses, fire suits, etc.) on marine vessels;

· Thorough understanding of NFPA, manufacturer, and local fire codes for fire extinguishers;

· Working with General Manager, Account Managers, and dispatcher to fulfill jobs as scheduled;

· Communicate with customers in a professional manner reflective of company values;

· Complete timely reports via ServiceTrade, Building Reports, and corresponding AHJ;

· Drive company vehicle to and from jobsites and adhere to company Fleet Safety protocols;

· Maintain a clean and safe work environment;

· Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications


· City of Seattle FEX-1 certification (or the ability to test and pass the FEX-1 licensing exam within 45 days of employment);

· Competency with: Ansul, Kidde, and Chemetron fire systems, Amerex fire extinguishers, SCBA equipment and flow testing, and Fire hose testing;

· Valid driver’s license;

· Excellent communication and customer service skills;

· Mechanical aptitude;

· Must have a phone with a data plan and ability to download mobile applications (monthly phone reimbursement provided).


Physical Requirements


This position requires physical exertion to complete the essential job functions:

· Mechanical aptitude and basic hand tool knowledge;

· Regular lifting of 50+ pounds;

· Regular climbing of stairs, ladders;

· Occasional presence in confined spaces;

· Occasional or regular sitting, standing, kneeling, bending, stretching, lifting, and walking;

· Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle.
