Position Snapshot

Range Energy is looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Director of Marketing to help us craft and share our story with trucking industry, investor, and regulator audiences. The ideal candidate will have experience in a B2B product launch, including the market education activities associated with communicating the value of a novel technology. As the first dedicated marketing hire, this is a high-impact role with the opportunity to collaborate closely with senior leadership and drive success in the marketplace.

Inside the Role
  • Drive cross-business alignment on marketing and communications goals, and develop and execute on a comprehensive strategy to achieve these goals
  • Develop quantitative and qualitative metrics to assess progress against marketing goals, and leverage analytical tools to measure performance
  • Own and manage build-out of marketing team, including a network of external contractors, and internal resources
  • Work closely with sales, product, and other departments to ensure alignment and maximize the impact of marketing initiatives on business growth.
  • Lead planning and execution of marketing activities across multiple channels, including social platforms, tradeshows, owned platforms, and PR.
  • Oversee brand positioning and messaging across all channels to enhance brand identity and maintain consistency in all marketing materials.
  • Drive the planning, execution, and optimization of multi-channel marketing campaigns, including digital, content, email, social media, events, and traditional media.
  • Conduct competitive analysis, industry research, and customer segmentation to inform marketing strategies and identify new opportunities for growth.
  • Report on marketing performance to senior leadership and key stakeholders, providing actionable insights and recommendations.


The Must Haves
  • 10+ years of experience in marketing, with at least 5 years in a leadership or director-level role.
  • Experience leading major components of a B2B product launch, especially in a startup environment
  • Strong expertise in digital marketing, brand management, and integrated marketing communications.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Data-driven mindset with experience in using analytics tools to measure and optimize marketing efforts.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple competing priorities.


Bonus Points
  • Strong understanding of marketing automation platforms, CRM tools, and content management systems.
  • Expertise in customer persona creation, customer journey mapping and lifecycle marketing.
  • Familiarity with emerging marketing technologies and trends.

Other Requirements
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds of equipment. Comfortable with occasional bending, kneeling, and climbing as required for infrastructure maintenance.
  • Travel Requirements: Occasional travel may be required for training, pilot support, conferences, or to support remote office locations
  • While we appreciate the importance of schedule flexibility, it's essential to note that the nature of this role necessitates a regular and consistent onsite presence.


Range Energy’s compensation package includes a competitive salary, equity for all full-time roles, and a generous benefits package. The salary range for Mountain View, CA based applicants is between $155,000 - $200,000 annually. The total compensation will be determined based on multiple factors including domain knowledge, experience and location.
