Senior Wind Energy Engineer (Snr Technical Analyst)

About the Role:

We are seeking a Senior Technical Analyst. This role will provide technical expertise and support to the RES Australia development team in the identification, assessment, design and development of high value renewable energy development projects. The scope of the role includes working with stakeholders within RES Australia related to property, wind, solar and energy storage teams on a regular basis to progress project objectives.

Key Responsibilities include but not limited to:

Updating and maintaining project specific geodatabases and models
Working with all disciplines in the engineering team to produce optimised and buildable turbine layout (wind farms) and PV array layout (solar farms) designs in compliance with all project constraints.
Linear & non-linear (CFD) wind flow modelling.
Technical support for transactions and closing projects including management of technical due diligence and condition compliance, and provision of technical input for turbine supply and PV panel contracts.
Ad hoc analysis and tool development, using Python programming language and SQL where appropriate.
Reviewing and approving project calculations produced by Technical Analysts and other
Time series modelling of resource (wind and solar) for assessment of grid and other market analyses.

Skills & Experience:

Ability to solve problems independently and make decisions
Degree in Renewable Energy, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering Science or other relevant qualification
Geographical information systems (ESRI GIS)
Comfortable and willing to learn new software, methodologies and concepts
Wind analysis & resource assessment, wind flow modelling, statistical analysis, project technical work
