Robin AI is on a mission to rebuild the legal industry — starting with making contracts simple for everyone. We are a pioneer in Legal AI, built on proprietary models, licensed data, and deep partnerships with Anthropic and AWS. Since 2019, we’ve expanded our footprint to 3 continents and have been supporting many of the world’s most successful businesses, including GE, Pfizer, KPMG, and UBS.
This role is within the Legal and Product Team at Robin, and will involve working directly with commercial teams at fast-growing corporates, global insurance companies and private capital funds as they buy and sell services of all types. In addition, you will have an important role in the development of Robin’s legal technology products, and will work closely with Robin’s engineering and commercial teams to onboard new clients to those products.
As an experienced legal professional, you will have responsibility for reviewing and negotiating commercial documents primarily Clinical Trial Agreements ("CTAs") and others (such as vendor agreements, master services agreements, statements of work, SaaS agreements, data processing addenda, confidentiality agreements and engagement letters). You will also have the opportunity to help us hire and develop fantastic new junior legal talent in the team. In addition, Robin offers great opportunities for personal career development in a variety of areas alongside traditional legal work, including client onboarding and management, product development and ongoing customer success
This role will suit an experienced legal professional (whether a qualified solicitor or paralegal) who might be considering an in-house position within a commercial legal team. At Robin we are proud to have high-calibre clients of the sort described above, and our core commercial work covers many of the same areas and document types that they handle internally – but we work in a much more modern, creative and flexible way! #LI-SA1
Reviewing and negotiating CTAs (alongside other contracts such as vendor agreements, data processing addenda, confidentiality agreements and engagement letters) using a combination of Robin’s AI technology and your own legal experience.
Helping establish and agree contract playbooks (i.e. review guidelines) with current and new clients.
Reviewing the work of junior team members and assisting with their professional development and ongoing training (all of which will also be available to you).
Testing Robin’s technology products and feeding back issues, bugs and areas for improvement to our engineering and machine learning teams.
As Robin continues to experience success, you will also have the chance to get involved in exciting business-related projects, including improving the operating model for our managed services team
You will have at least 3+ years’ experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating CTAs and the other core commercial documents regularly encountered by our clients described above. You will have previously worked with commercial legal teams (and perhaps procurement teams), whether in-house, at a service provider or at a law firm, and will understand the typical process for negotiating CTAs and other agreements, as listed above.
You will enjoy taking the initiative and seeking answers to interesting practical and legal issues. You will be both technical and commercial, both in the practice of law and outside of it. You will be interested in developing your client management skills at a faster pace than might be possible elsewhere, and ideally, you’ll be looking forward to taking ownership of some of our client relationships in due course. Last (but certainly not least), you will be motivated by working in a fast-paced, diverse and intellectually challenging environment where collaboration between lawyers and non-lawyers is essential to achieving results.
