The ideal candidate will have 12+ years of design experience working in a fast-paced, highly-collaborative, Agile environment, at least 8 years of which must be in financial services as well as 5 or more years as a design team lead. Must possess a strong proficiency with Figma design, prototyping and development tools.As a key member of our small but important design team, you will have an outsize influence in creating intuitive and engaging user experiences for our clients and internal users that help lead Rockefeller’s growth.Responsibilities• Strategic UX Mindset: In addition to a strong background with the tactical day-to-day UX operation, candidates will have 5 or more years of experience in strategic design thinking, able to view the “big picture” and consistently apply business goals and Lean UX methodologies across multiple projects, initiatives, platforms and user groups. The ability to understand business objectives, formulate and execute a UX strategy across platforms, user groups and program will be key to success in this role.• Design Team Management: Must have 5 or more years demonstratable experience leading a dynamic and diverse UX team, including:• Day-to-day design story deliverable oversight and direction, ensuring consistent application of Rockefeller style guidelines as well as sound design principles,• Prioritization of business and program management objectives across design team resources in a demanding workspace with frequently changing directives and requirements,• Efficient allocation of UX resources to projects and design stories, maximizing designer experience and skill sets,• Management of the design team in a fast-paced, dev-first environment that emphasizes speed of delivery over vetting and approval of designs,• Diplomatic oversight of dynamics and relationships across team members and management, ensuring the UX team effectively collaborates and works toward common goals, and• Daily UX team leadership, mentoring and development while approving design work before sharing with teams.• UX Operations: Management of important UX process waypoints across projects and deliverables, including regular project and dev team standups, iterative design reviews, sprint demos and stakeholder presentations.• Project & Program Management: Experience stepping in as a proxy project or program manager as needed to help efficiently guide projects toward timely release alongside associated design work.• Content Strategy: Experience managing the creation and application of user-focused content, labeling and UI direction, monitoring style and tone across platforms and applications.• Consistency: This role requires a keen eye for UI and content consistency across within and across design deliverables, projects, applications and platforms. Experience conducting regular “consistency audits” to ensure UI standards are met and maintained across the platforms.• Requirements Gathering & Grooming: Work closely with PMs, BAs and business partners to ensure that requirements for design stories are vetted, groomed and thorough to ensure they meet business objectives and ready for friction-free UX uptake.• Interaction Design: Work iteratively with business and project management to develop effective interactive design solutions that meet requirements to enhance user satisfaction and promote ease of use. Focus on creating seamless and efficient user journeys.• Wireframing and Prototyping: Working with BAs and business leads to create detailed wireframes, prototypes, and mockups using Figma. Ensure designs are aligned with user needs as well as business goals in the form of written requirements.• Visual Design: Apply visual design principles to create usable and cohesive user interfaces across various platforms for different user groups. Ensure consistency in design elements that adhere to design system and brand guidelines.• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including product managers, business analysts and leads, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure a thorough understanding of requirements and the successful implementation of design solutions.• Agile Methodology: Participate in Agile processes and contribute to sprint planning, daily stand-ups, demos and retrospectives. Adapt designs quickly based on feedback, changing requirements and business priorities.• User Research: Be familiar with user research best practices to understand and validate user needs, behaviors, and pain points to update designs based upon user feedback.• Design System & Documentation: 5 or more years of experience curating, updating and evolving (Figma-based) design system and style and development guides.• Presentation Ability: 5 or more years of experience making effective, impactful and concise presentations to team members, stakeholders and executives.• Development Team Collaboration: Experience leading the working relationship with development and QA teams before, during and after delivery of design stories and artifacts to ensure the accurate and effective implementation and release of approved UI.• Kanban Board: Experience effectively adding and managing design stories in DevOps (or similar). Lead project teams to help move stories from requirements through design, approval and into development, mitigating missed requirements, rework or delay.• Voice of the User: Be an outspoken advocate for the team’s design decisions and the UX process. Be willing to push back against poor design direction and diplomatically resist the UX team serving as a design “order takers.” And, most importantly, enthusiastically represent the “voice of the user” to teammates, partners and stakeholders.Qualifications• Minimum of 12 years of experience as a UX Designer in a fast-paced, collaborative, Agile environment.• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Design Manager, leading a dynamic UX team.• Minimum of 8 years design within the financial services industry.• Technical Skills: Expertise in Figma is required. Proficiency with modern digital design practices and tools is highly recommended.• Education: Bachelor's degree in Design or Human-Computer Interaction, or commensurate experience and demonstratable skill set.• Portfolio: A strong portfolio showcasing a range of UX design projects, including wireframes, prototypes, and final designs. Examples of design team leadership and direction including where you overcame challenges such as missed deadlines, delivery of poor or inadequate UI, or friction with team or interpersonal dynamics.• Communication Skills: Posses excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to articulate design concepts and rationale to team members and stakeholders.• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to think critically and provide creative solutions to complex design challenges.• Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.• Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and contribute positively to team dynamics.• Hybrid Workplace Availability: Candidates are required to be present to conduct in-office collaboration 3-4 days a week (standard working week/hours in Hamilton NJ office).DisclosureRockefeller & Co.
