Content Associate (Partnerships)

We're putting together a talented team to build the #1 training platform for Runners

We help everyday runners become outstanding by providing world-class training, coaching and community for everyone, whether you're improving your 5k time or training for your first marathon. To date we have built iOS, Android and Apple watch apps that help people achieve their goals by coaching them through the full journey and syncing to their favourite fitness devices.

We’re growing extremely fast and in November 2023 closed a new $6.5M funding round led by JamJar with participation from Eka Ventures, Venrex and Creator Ventures. In 2024, we were selected by Apple as one of three global finalists for the 2024 iPhone App of the Year, reflecting the innovation and impact of what we’ve built. We want to grow as fast as we can into the future and are looking for individuals who will help us get there. For more about our background and growth check out our Careers Page!

We’re now looking ahead to the future and the people who want to help us build and scale Runna. Our aim is to reach millions of subscribers in the next 5 years and be the go-to training platform for any runner. Now is a magical time to join, we're still small, and everyone makes a foundational difference.

What you’ll be doing

In short, you’ll be writing, organising and managing (with the help of our amazing coaches, team and partners) all of Runna’s content. This will have a particular focus on our Partnership content to provide millions of Runnas the information, motivation and skills they need to achieve their goals. You will also be supporting the Content Lead in achieving our content goals across the board. The content you’ll be working with our coaches to manage includes but isn’t limited to:

  • Support Partner Content Creation and Distribution: Assist in crafting and curating content for Runna’s partners, including solus emails, newsletter inclusions, and race-specific adaptations of our articles. Ensure messaging aligns with both Runna’s brand voice and partner objectives.
  • Develop and Maintain Partner Training Hubs: Build out and continuously refine training resources for partners, ensuring they have access to the latest and most effective materials to promote Runna’s offerings.
  • Adapt and Localise Content for UK and US Audiences: Tailor content to resonate with different markets, considering cultural nuances, language differences, and regional race calendars to maximise engagement.
  • Test and Learn Approach to Content Strategy: Analyze partner engagement metrics, gather feedback, and refine content based on what performs best to feedback to partnerships team to ensure success.
  • Support Content Strategy and Execution: Assist in the creation and optimisation of Runna's Support content, ensuring alignment with SEO targets and search intent. Focus on driving organic discovery by incorporating high-value search terms and engaging, informative content that enhances Runna’s visibility.
  • Assist in Product Review Content Development and Maintenance: Help research, write, and update product review articles covering key running gear categories (e.g., shoes, apparel, nutrition). Ensure content remains current and valuable to readers by monitoring industry trends and refreshing recommendations as products evolve.

We’re looking for someone who loves…

  • Writing: Whether that’s one-line tips or longer form ‘Ultimate Marathon Training Guides’—you love to get your head down and write.
  • Educating/Motivating Runners: Thinking through exactly which information (and when) to deliver to our users so that a user is motivated and informed but not overwhelmed. You’ll be helping our Runnas turn up to the start line knowing everything they need to have a great run.
  • Organising and Managing Content Efficiently: Oversee and help structure Runna’s extensive library of support articles and YouTube videos, ensuring content is well-organized, easily accessible, and free from duplication. Additionally, collaborate closely with the partnerships team and 100's of partners to ensure the best content is delivered on time, meeting deadlines and maintaining a high standard of quality and consistency across all platforms.
  • Cross-Team Collaboration for Content Excellence: Work closely with coaches, the CX team, and internal stakeholders across partnerships, marketing, and editorial to identify content gaps and opportunities. Gather insights from users, leverage expert input, and collaborate with videographers and partners to create high-quality, cohesive content that aligns with Runna’s business goals and enhances user experience.
  • Running! We need someone that understands and loves running. You can write a marathon starter pack with your eyes closed and could list off the top five European marathons, or trending carbon shoes without hesitation.

What experience we’re looking for

We care more about you looking at the ‘We’re looking for someone that loves…’ section and thinking ‘Wow I was born to do this job’ than years of experience. That said, we do need you to have 1+ years of proven experience both writing and managing content ideally in a customer-facing setting. As part of the application process we’ll expect you to send us a sample of shorter and longer form content that you’ve written as well as examples of content channels that you’ve personally managed.
