Read more about us hereThe roleReporting to the Business Area Segment General Counsel (dotted line to VP, Head of Sandvik Group Compliance), the Chief Compliance Officer oversees and enhances our compliance programs, ensuring that all business units and employees adhere to legal and regulatory requirements along with our internal policies. This critical role will focus on implementing and developing compliance protocols specific to the U.S. market and industries in which we operate, working closely with senior leadership as a trusted advisor.Key performance areas• Strategic Leadership in Compliance: Drive a culture of compliance across the organization.• Compliance Program Development and Management: Develop and implement effective compliance initiatives within Sandvik’s established framework.• Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Proactively identify, assess, and manage compliance risks.• Policy and Procedure Management: Manage and update internal compliance policies to align with industry standards.• Employee Training and Development: Design and deliver compliance training programs to ensure all employees understand their obligations.• Regulatory Reporting and Liaison: Serve as the main point of contact for regulatory bodies, as well as internal Sandvik bodies.• Incident Management and Investigations: Conduct and oversee internal investigations, including whistleblower matters.• Continuous Improvement: Establish monitoring and auditing processes to enhance compliance protocols.• Stakeholder Collaboration and Cross-Functional Leadership: Engage with senior leaders and cross-functional teams, including across the Sandvik Group.• Board and Senior Management Reporting: Regularly report on compliance operations and insights.Your profileBachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree or Juris Doctor (JD) is preferred; A minimum of 8 years of experience in compliance, legal, or regulatory roles, with at least 3 years in a leadership position. Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.Required Competencies:• Proven knowledge of software licensing compliance industry standards, preferably within manufacturing, and US-specific regulations and regulators (e.g. government contracts compliance, export controls and data privacy).• Experience developing, implementing (end-to-end), and overseeing compliance programs whilst navigating and bridging compliance programs across multiple jurisdictions and broader corporate policies to meet both the unique needs of local operations.• Proven knowledge of compliance technology and data analytics, with strong documentation and reporting skills to ensure clear, accurate compliance records and program insights.• Experience leading compliance teams and collaborating effectively across departments, with skills in mentoring and building up programmatic capacity.• Proven experience conducting and managing internal investigations such as whistle-blower matters.• Self-propelling with the ability to multi-task and prioritize workloads to meet strict deadlines.• Leadership qualities aligned with Sandvik’s core values.LocationFlexible within the United States, preferably on east coast time.BenefitsSandvik offers a comprehensive total compensation package including a competitive benefits package of health, dental and disability insurance, and a 401(k)-retirement savings plan.
