ROLE OVERVIEW

We are looking for a skilled Release Manager to join our team. As a Release Manager, you will oversee the end-to-end release lifecycle for our software projects. You will collaborate with cross functional teams to ensure smooth, timely and high-quality software releases.  This role is ideal for someone who likes to work in a dynamic environment, has a strong technical background and is passionate about streamlining processes. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Software Release Planning and Coordination 
  • Co-ordination with cross-functional teams (e.g., development, QA, DevOps, and product teams) to ensure release readiness.
  • Manage risks and resolve issues that affect release schedule and quality.
  • Ensure smooth execution of build, deployment, and release processes across environments (development, quality, and production).
  • Monitor and validate release activities to ensure compliance with quality standards and business objectives.
  • Manage post-release activities, including monitoring, reporting, and issue resolution.
  • Act as the central point of contact for release-related activities.
  • Communicate release progress to stakeholders including risks and outcomes.
  • Coordinate and lead release readiness reviews, go/no-go decisions, and post-mortems.
  • Analyze current release processes to identify opportunities for improvement and implement them.
  • Understanding of automation tools and processes to enhance efficiency and reliability.
  • Maintain and document release policies, standards, and best practices.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in Release ManagementPreferred Qualifications
  • ITIL certification or equivalent experience in IT service management.
  • Knowledge of security and compliance requirements for software releases.

 

Technical Knowledge:

  • Familiarity with DevOps, Version control systems (e.g. Git) and deployment pipelines.
  • Experience with scripting and automation tools (e.g., Python, Bash).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms.
  • Strong Organization skills with experience managing complex release schedules.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence).

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent communication and stake holder management skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken
