What you'll do

  • Project Management & Legal Advisory:

    • Manage high-priority, sensitive projects within Sentient, providing comprehensive legal advice on Web3, AI, blockchain, and emerging technologies.

    • Develop and implement regulatory and policy strategies to support Sentient’s objectives in the Web3 and AI domains.

    • Advise on legal and regulatory implications of Sentient’s product and service offerings, including potential risks and compliance requirements.

  • Risk Assessment & Mitigation:

    • Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate potential legal risks associated with Sentient’s operations, products, and services.

    • Coordinate with internal stakeholders, subject matter experts, and external counsel to develop risk mitigation strategies and ensure compliance.

    • Conduct due diligence and provide legal guidance on potential partnerships, collaborations, and transactions.

  • Transactional Support:

    • Negotiate and execute deals, agreements, and contracts with partners, collaborators, and third-party service providers.

    • Provide legal support for various transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, investments, and strategic partnerships.

    • Ensure legal compliance and strategic alignment in all transactions and agreements.

  • Industry & Legal Trends:

    • Stay informed of trends, developments, and emerging legal issues in the Web3, AI, blockchain, and FinTech industries.

    • Monitor and interpret legal and regulatory developments related to technology, intellectual property, information security, data privacy, and financial regulations (e.g., SEC, CFTC, FINRA).

    • Provide guidance and recommendations to align Sentient’s strategies and operations with evolving legal and regulatory landscapes.

Qualifications

  • J.D. degree from a top-tier law school and admission to at least one state bar.

  • 4+ years of experience at a reputable law firm, in-house, or regulatory/government agency.

  • Extensive legal experience in regulatory and policy matters related to Web3, blockchain, cryptocurrency, and/or FinTech is strongly preferred.

  • Deep knowledge of financial regulations (e.g., SEC, CFTC, FINRA).

  • Excellent academic credentials and references.

  • Ability to navigate rapidly changing and ambiguous environments.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative, team-oriented approach.

  • Strategic thinker and highly motivated self-starter capable of working under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent judgment and decision-making skills, with the ability to interact productively with various stakeholders, including other attorneys, in-house clients, and outside counsel.
