HomeVision is building products to modernize and revolutionize the real estate valuation industry to create a more efficient, transparent, and equitable US housing market. Our first products leverage technologies such as NLP and computer vision to automatically underwrite appraisals for the mortgage industry and utilize large data sets to help appraisers create valuations more efficiently.

We’re well-funded by Initialized Capital, seeing good traction, and quickly growing our revenue, product, and team. We’re seeking a senior engineering contractor who can grow and architect our technology platform as well as grow and mentor our engineering team.

This role requires strong empathy for our users, the capacity to understand complex ecosystems and requirements, and the ability to guide and build pragmatic technology solutions for business products. You’ll also need to have an interest in fintech, financial services, or real estate. You’ll work directly with the co-founders to build our vision of how the valuation industry should work.

What you’ll do:

You’ll work on a Golang/Python on AWS stack and build workflow automation products for our core user base of home appraisal professionals.

HomeVision engineers work on entire products— everything from releasing a valuation model to building frontend data visualizations that help communicate results in a human, intuitive way to our users and customers

What you’ll bring:

  • Strong experience in backend development, this is where the majority of our work is

  • Proven working experience in Unix/Linux environments and on distributed systems

  • Ability to learn and master new programming languages and technologies.

Bonus points:

  • Experience in one or more of the following technologies: Go, Python, Elasticsearch, and Docker.

  • Experience in scientific and numerical computing (e.g., numpy, scipy, scikit-learn, tensorflow, pytorch, jupyter) considered a plus.
