Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Program Manager with a background in machine learning, artificial intelligence, data engineering, and application development. The ideal candidate will manage complex, cross-functional projects, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality outcomes while fostering excellent business partner relationships. This role requires a blend of technical acumen, strategic planning, and effective stakeholder communication to drive initiatives that align with business goals.

 

Responsibilities:

Program/Project Management: 

  • Oversee end-to-end project management for machine learning, AI, data engineering, and application development initiatives, including planning, execution, and delivery.
  • Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and milestones, managing dependencies and resource allocation to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams, promoting collaboration across data scientists, engineers, developers, and business partners.

Stakeholder Engagement, Prioritization, and Communication:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for business stakeholders, maintaining open and effective communication to manage expectations and provide program updates.
  • Translate technical concepts into business language for non-technical stakeholders and facilitate cross-functional alignment.
  • Gather requirements from stakeholders, ensuring project deliverables align with strategic business needs.

Technical Oversight and Guidance:

  • Leverage your technical background in machine learning, AI, data engineering, and application development to guide project planning and execution.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to understand and address project challenges, making adjustments to project plans as needed.
  • Ensure quality and feasibility by reviewing technical designs, assessing risks, and implementing best practices.

Risk Management:

  • Identify, assess, and mitigate potential risks associated with project timelines, deliverables, and resource constraints.
  • Implement contingency plans and escalate issues when necessary, ensuring project continuity and success.

Performance Tracking and Reporting:

  • Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and success metrics for each project, regularly tracking progress and addressing deviations.
  • Prepare and deliver comprehensive reports to stakeholders, showcasing project status, milestones, and ROI.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in program/project management, particularly in machine learning, AI, data engineering, and application development projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in successfully managing large-scale, cross-functional technical projects.

Technical and Soft Skill Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of machine learning, AI concepts, data engineering processes, and application development lifecycles.
  • Experience with tools and methodologies in project management (e.g., Agile, Scrum, JIRA) and data/AI ecosystems (e.g., Python, SQL, cloud services).
  • Familiarity with software development and deployment processes, data pipelines, and model integration workflows.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with business stakeholders, ensuring alignment on project goals and deliverables.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, adaptability, and attention to detail in fast-paced environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in project management (e.g., PMP, Agile Scrum Master).
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment.
  • Knowledge of cloud-based platforms for data and AI (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).

For California, Colorado, New York, Washington, and remote roles: The compensation range for this role is $118,860 - $196,720. Actual compensation is influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to skills, experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
