Head of 3D

We are looking for a Head of 3D who is not only an exceptional leader but also an active contributor to 3D model development, animation, and art direction. This role will spearhead the quality, style, and technical standards for 3D assets across brand initiatives and game development projects. As the bridge between game development teams and the head of design, you will play a pivotal role in defining the creative vision, ensuring top-tier asset delivery, and optimizing production pipelines.

  • Quality Standards & Art Direction: Set and maintain quality benchmarks for 3D modeling, texturing, rigging, and animation that align with the studio's artistic vision and brand goals.
  • Collaboration with Key Stakeholders: Work closely with the Head of DesignGame Developers, and Producers to ensure smooth workflows, timely delivery, and alignment on creative goals.
  • Pipeline & Tools: Design and optimize pipelines for Unity 3D, Unreal Engine, and other design tools to increase the efficiency of 3D asset production.
  • Problem-Solving & Technical Guidance: Troubleshoot technical issues in asset development, shader creation, and real-time engine optimization.
  • Innovation & Research: Stay current with the latest trends in 3D modeling, animation, and interactive media. Identify new tools, processes, and opportunities to maintain a competitive creative edge.
  • 5+ years of experience as a 3D artist/animator with experience leading teams.
  • Expert-level proficiency in 3D modeling, rigging, and animation using tools like Blender, Maya, or 3DS Max.
  • Advanced experience with Unity 3D and Unreal Engine pipelines, shaders, and performance optimization.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing both technical skills and artistic vision in 3D character and environmental design.
  • Proven leadership skills with a track record of guiding creative teams to deliver high-quality, on-brand 3D assets.
  • Deep understanding of PBR workflows, asset optimization, and performance constraints in game engines.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills with game designers, developers, and marketing teams.
