The Role
We are seeking an experienced leader to own global events for the Foundation. As the Head of Events, you will lead the strategic design and execution of world-class events that reflect the Foundation's vision and elevate our global presence. This is a senior leadership role requiring strategic thinking, operational excellence, and the ability to scale high-impact experiences.
Reporting into our Head of Marketing, this role is an incredible opportunity to shape the future of events in the fast-evolving world of blockchain. As the Head of Events, you’ll have the chance to design and execute world-class experiences that bring together visionaries, builders, and enthusiasts from around the globe.

Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Leadership:
• Develop and execute a global events strategy aligned with the Foundation’s goals
• Design a portfolio of flagship conferences, hackathons, and regional events.
• Define KPIs and metrics to measure event success and organizational impact.
2. Budget Management
• Own and manage an annual budget, ensuring strategic and cost-effective allocation.
• Negotiate and manage vendor contracts to maximize ROI.
• Monitor financials to ensure on-budget, high-quality event delivery.
3. Team Leadership
• Lead and mentor a team of high performing event professionals, fostering collaboration and accountability.
• Provide growth opportunities to develop team expertise and capabilities.
• Coordinate cross-functionally efficiently and to a high level of satisfaction with
marketing, ecosystem, product and growth teams.
4. Event Design and Execution
• Oversee the lifecycle of events, from planning to execution and evaluation.
• Deliver exceptional experiences through innovative design and seamless logistics.
• Implement risk management and compliance processes for smooth operations.
• Deliver tightly organised events on schedule and budget, while making thoughtful demands on organisational resources.
5. Ecosystem Engagement
• Foster productive connections with diverse stakeholders across our ecosystem.
• Build partnerships to co-host or sponsor events that enhance community ties.
• Ensure inclusivity and diversity in event design and participation.
Evaluation Criteria:
1. Must Have:
• Global Strategy Experience: Proven track record in designing and executing a global events strategy for high-profile, multi-format events (e.g., summits, hackathons, virtual conferences).
• Budget Management Expertise: Skilled in managing and optimizing an annual budget of $XM+, ensuring strategic alignment and cost efficiency.
• Team Leadership: Experience building and managing a team of 3+ professionals, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability.
• ROI Analysis: Demonstrated ability to measure and communicate event impact through data-driven ROI analyses presented to senior leadership.
• Leadership Gravitas: Must have confidence and influence to face off against a broad variety of stakeholders and advocate for their work.
2. Should Have:
• Blockchain Knowledge: Familiarity with blockchain trends, audiences, and ecosystem stakeholders.
• Collaboration Skills: Strong cross-functional collaboration abilities to work effectively with a broad variety of teams.
• Vendor Management: Exceptional negotiation and vendor management skills to secure optimal commercial outcomes.
3. Nice to Have:
• Tech Events: Prior experience leading events in the technology sector.
• Global Production Experience: Experience producing events across geographies, with an understanding of regulations and cultural nuances.
