We’re looking for a visionary VP of Engineering to drive technical excellence and lead our engineering team to the next level of scale and impact

  • Build and Lead a High-Performing Engineering Organization: Develop and execute a roadmap to scale the engineering team and establish a culture that aligns with Stigg’s values of innovation, agility, and quality. You’ll be responsible for assembling a team capable of building robust, scalable products and guiding them to achieve their best work.
  • Deliver Exceptional, Scalable Products: Ensure that Stigg’s products deliver high availability, performance, and security by fostering a quality-driven engineering culture. You’ll set standards and practices to elevate the codebase quality, streamline development, and drive consistent, predictable product delivery.
  • Lead Talent Acquisition and Personal Growth: Drive hiring initiatives to attract top talent, spearhead training programs, and create individual growth opportunities that foster job satisfaction and career advancement within the engineering team.
  • Cross-Functional Alignment: Collaborate closely with the product and GTM teams to translate business goals into a technical roadmap. You’ll identify and implement solutions using best-in-class technologies, architectures, and practices.
  • Establish a Culture of Operational Excellence: Design and optimize processes around reliability, observability, and automation. Lead initiatives to improve deployment cycles, incident response, and platform reliability, ensuring that Stigg’s infrastructure meets the demands of growth.
  • Optimize Internal Processes and Communication: Manage and refine workflows to create a clear, healthy flow of information within the engineering team and across other organizational stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment.
  • Maximize Team Velocity: Implement strategies and practices to optimize both individual and team productivity, enhancing output to achieve efficient and impactful delivery.

  • Leadership and Management Experience: 5+ years of experience in senior engineering roles (Engineering Group Manager, Director of R&D, or VP of R&D) within high-growth startups. You’ve been there, scaling teams from 10 to 50+ in the whirlwind of startup life, and you know how to keep everyone aligned and moving forward.
  • Technical Expertise: 5+ years in software engineering, with expertise managing large-scale, distributed systems. You’re fluent in cloud platforms (AWS is a big plus), architectural patterns, and best practices that make robust, scalable products.
