Terran Orbital is seeking an experienced Senior Vice President of Finance & Business Operations (F&BO)  to join our growing team. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the SVP, Finance & Business Operations  will be responsible for managing a team of professional staff in business finance and contracts, ensuring contractual compliance, cost management, budget development and analyses, financial estimating, and proposal pricing and support. The SVP, Finance & Business Operations will be responsible for all functions associated with accounting including but not limited to – billings and collections, labor and travel, material accounting, payroll, balance sheets, accounts payable, accounts receivable, government finance and property, financial management, business ventures, and affordability. 

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain ownership of the annual Long Range Plan (LRP), semi-annual and quarterly Board of Directors reports, quarterly Contract Status Review (CSR), companywide risk assessments, and 10-Q and 10-K certifications.
  • Translate commercial business strategy into financial targets while interpreting and incorporating risk and macroeconomic variables into financial models.
  • Develop and utilize forward-looking, predictive models and activity-based commercial financial analyses to provide insight into the company’s operations and business plan.
  • Establish and ensure effective and consistent modeling and forecasting processes and identify and implement best practices.
  • Maintain ownership of financial team workforce initiatives: employee engagement, talent management, performance management, staffing, and training and development.
  • Coordinate subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions as required.
  • Able to travel and work irregular and/or long hours, including weekends and holidays, as financial reporting schedules dictate.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration or related field is required; MBA and/or CPA preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in finance and accounting is required, preferably in a publicly traded multi-site manufacturing type operation with at least 2 years in financial planning and analysis/program finance or an equivalent combination of education and experience in Financial Modeling and forecasting experience.
  • Understands gross and net margin improvement and impacts on the business as a portfolio.
  • Experience in commercial and military space business.
  • Experience with economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, and the analysis and reporting of financial data (Cost Accounting, GAAP, SEC, Govt accounting etc.).
  • Experience with commercial pricing, and accounting vs. government accounting and pricing.
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and financial analysis software (Systems Applications and Processes (MS Dynamics preferred).
  • Experience with financial audit and internal control strategies.
  • Proficient with financial spreadsheet analysis and mainstream office software.
  • Able to motivate, develop, and direct people to perform at their highest potential.
  • Able to identify and consider the relative costs and benefits of potential actions and choose the most appropriate solution.
  • Able to build and foster effective business relationships with internal stakeholders, vendors, suppliers, customers, and other departments.
  • Commercial Pricing experience.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, and financial planning.

Salary Range $220,000-$350,000

            

Your actual level and base salary will be determined case-by-case and may vary based on the job-related qualification, knowledge, skills, education, and experience. Physical Demands

An employee must meet the physical demands described to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. In performing the duties of this job, the employee is routinely required to sit or stand for long durations of time, in addition to bending, reaching, and walking. This would require the ability to lift or move objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move objects up to 25 pounds. This position is generally sedentary, with substantial computer usage.

Work Environment

The job operates in a professional office environment but in a manufacturing company. This job routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and scanners.
