Merchandising/Buying Assistant

Provides support and handles buying administrative duties for the merchandising office and shop.  


Primary Responsibilities
  • Reports to Director of Merchandising.
  • Responsible for buying of music, weekly reporting and updates including but not limited to:
  • New products and merchandise data entry
  • Purchase order entry
  • Artist cd signings
  • In house artist signings
  • Web shop promotions

  • Weekly Sales reports
  •          Sales
  •          On Order reports by location
  •          TY/LY
  •          Trends
  •          Damages report
  •          Others as needed

  • Communicate with vendors as needed
  •         New titles
  •          Late shipments
  •          Open purchase orders

  • Celerant maintenance such as
  •          Outstanding orders
  •         Closing past Pos
  •         Deactivating skus
  •         Selecting titles for term sales

  • Web support as assigned
  • Additional duties as assigned


Skills and Qualifications
  • B.A. degree
  • Three years prior office experience or equivalent
  • Proactive problem solver
  • Interest in the arts specifically opera and classical music
  • Strong computer skills including Word, Outlook, Excel, Power Point, and Internet
  • E-commerce knowledge


Physical Demands
  • Highly energetic person with a positive attitude, able to work well under pressure and tight deadlines, creative and resourceful in achieving results in a fast paced environment.
  • Exceptional organizational and interpersonal capabilities and good written and oral communication skills.
