Responsibilities:
- Answer and log all calls properly, communicating in a clear and professional manner to best serve the customer’s needs courteously and efficiently.
- Create and confirm accurate electronic bookings of customer trip requests using guidelines for the Trapeze scheduling system.
- Answers telephone calls from the public for scheduling travel, taking cancellations, and/or for requesting information on available services in a courteous and polite manner. Prepares initial customer intake forms and maintains computerized reservation system.
- Assesses customer needs and identifies travel options, providing prospective customer with sufficient information to select appropriate travel modes.
- Determines point of trip origin and destination and seeks to group the requested trip with other previously scheduled trips. Provides customers with information on the estimated time of pickup, fare charges to be paid, cancellation and no-show policies, and other information as needed.
- Has knowledge of regional terrain and road patterns of the surrounding area including street names, shopping centers, churches, etc.
- Demonstrates professional and pleasant phone manners, enthusiasm, and commitment to the public transportation concept.
- Complete all Reservations issued by phone, email, and electronic fax in a timely manner.
- Answer calls in our Spanish-speaking queue
- Communicate any problems or scheduling issues to the Call Center Manager and Assistant General Manager
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
- Maintain clear and concise written record detailing each trip request received.
- Create and confirm accurate all client bookings of customer trip requests using guidelines for the Trapeze scheduling system.
- Other Duties as assigned
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Strong Customer Service skills
- Ability to proficiently operate a computer with a keystroke speed of no less than 35 corrected wpm.
- Ability to work flexible schedules including early morning, and weekends.
- Ability to clearly communicate in the English and Spanish language
- Ability to use a standard business telephone system for communication.
- Ability to read a standard map and make good judgment calls on appropriate routing.
- Ability to critically analyze report data and make recommendations for system improvement.
