About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Manager, Email Marketing to lead our email marketing strategies, focusing on driving customer engagement, retention, and lifetime value (LTV). This role is pivotal in creating personalized, data-driven campaigns that align with Trellis’s mission and business goals. 


Reporting to and collaborating with the Director of Product Marketing, you will shape and implement strategies that guide the full lifecycle of customer communication—from onboarding to reactivation. Leveraging insights and segmentation, your primary responsibility will be to develop and optimize lifecycle marketing programs, including drip campaigns and email sequences, aimed at boosting engagement and reactivation across key customer segments.


The ideal candidate is both creative and analytical, with a proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. You will collaborate cross-functionally to build and optimize campaigns, bringing fresh ideas to strengthen customer relationships and drive measurable results.


Key Responsibilities
  • Lifecycle Marketing: Develop and implement CRM strategies, including onboarding, conversion, nurture, engagement, adoption, and win-back campaigns.
  • Campaign Ownership: Plan, execute, and optimize email campaigns, managing calendars and ensuring timely delivery.
  • Personalization & Segmentation: Leverage customer data to create highly targeted, relevant campaigns across key lifecycle stages.
  • Analytics & Reporting: Track KPIs (open rates, CTR, conversions, etc.), analyze performance, and provide actionable insights.
  • A/B Testing:Test and implement new messaging strategies, subject lines, and creative assets to optimize open rates, click-through rates, and overall engagement
  • Ongoing Optimization: Monitor, analyze, and report on the effectiveness of lifecycle campaigns, continuously refining strategies to drive results.
  • Retention Focus: Reduce churn, improve customer retention, and drive LTV through thoughtful marketing strategies.
  • Collaboration: Work cross functionally with product, sales, operations, and customer success teams to ensure campaigns align with company objectives.
  • Automation & Tools: Use marketing platforms (e.g., HubSpot, Brevo, Sendwithus) to build scalable and automated workflows.       
  • Industry Trends: Stay up-to-date on trends, best practices, and emerging tools in digital marketing to refine lifecycle marketing strategies.


Qualifications
  • Experience: 3-5+ years in email marketing, CRM, or lifecycle marketing, with proven success driving engagement and retention.
  • Tools Expertise: Hands-on experience with CRM platforms like HubSpot, Braze, or Klaviyo. Familiarity with Amplitude, Tableau, or similar analytics tools is a plus.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong ability to use data to inform decisions, optimize campaigns, and generate insights.
  • Creative Skills: Proficiency in copywriting and creative design for email campaigns with access to a dedicated design resource for support.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with HTML and CSS for email development.
  • Project Management: Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Collaboration: Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with product, creative, and sales teams.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of marketing compliance standards and best practices.
