VP of Manufacturing

The Vice President of Manufacturing role leads the overall manufacturing strategy, planning, and operations for APAC manufacturing locations.  At a strategic level, this role will drive movement and consolidation of the operational footprint while streamlining equipment to improve running cost, depreciation charges, headcount, security, logistics and time to manufacture through adopting process designs, technologies, and methods that maximize operational efficiency.  This role also plans and forecasts resources for facilities, equipment, materials, technology, and workforce to ensure sufficient manufacturing capacity to support business goals.  This position reports to the SVP of Global Operations. 


Please note this position is Up to 50% travel required primarily to manufacturing locations in China/Vietnam.


Responsibilities
  • Implement manufacturing operations strategy in alignment with company plan and customer needs. 
  • Create and execute policies and programs to maximize capacity and ensure high quality and low costs.
  • Develop an adaptable organization to handle new technologies resulting from alliances from manufacturing and supply chain perspective.
  • Lead manufacturing organization for establishing teamwork and morale and develop plans for manufacturing and plan staff.
  • Enhance key operational processes performance with initial focus on mechanical operation improvement and expansion to other regions.       
  • Guarantee excellent communications in organization at corporate level with strong internal communication.
  • Drive continuous improvement in Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) through team participation in tiered meetings and plant management processes to improve resource utilization, performance, and quality.
  • Assess financial statements and activity reports to measure productivity and determine cost reduction areas.
  • Set up, execute, and enforce departmental goals and procedures.
  • Continue to evolve and improve production tracking, quality control systems and visual management analysis to determine problems and suggest processing and staffing changes.

  • Regularly reports on progress of the team against mutually agreed upon initiatives and key performance indicators.
  • Resolves and/or escalates issues through others in a timely fashion.
  • Understands how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully.
  • Communicates respectfully and professionally with colleagues, key stakeholders, and customers.
  • Manages a large regional team effectively.


Qualifications
  • Strong experience with the electronics industry of which multiple years have been at leadership level, preferably at a mid- to large-size multinational company.
  • Ability to work independently on new process development/strategic realignment as well as advise on tactical issues: self-starter able to work with little direction and with a high level of self-motivation.
  • Strong executive presence – ability to navigate complex situations, communicate across the organization and lead cross-functional teams to drive impact.
  • Direct international experience leading cross-national teams preferred.
  • Good written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills – proficiency at both written and spoken English, second language (Vietnamese/Mandarin) preferred.
  • Strong documentation skills and ability to read and interpret advanced technical documents and write reports.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems generally and MRP specifically - knowledge in Oracle/Cloud Planning preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point).
