Who We Are: Vasco's Story

We believe that once product-market fit is reached, growth can be engineered. However, the vast majority of ideas don’t reach their full potential or die because of execution failure. Our mission is to considerably improve the odds of success of startups and scale-ups. We help them understand, achieve and maintain high velocity and sustainable growth at every stage of their life. To do this, we are building a platform uniting software, community and educational content so that they can scale faster, better and with predictability.

About This Role

At Vasco, Product Designers play a crucial role in solution discovery and design excellence. You will be responsible for shaping user experiences that are visually cohesive, easy to navigate, and meet user goals. Operating within our Shape Up process, you’ll collaborate closely with engineers, shapers, and business stakeholders to co-create impactful product features that integrate seamlessly into the Vasco platform.

You’ll own the design process end-to-end, from early wireframes to visual QA and design system contributions, ensuring that the solution not only works but delights our customers.

You Will Achieve This By

  • Recommend and implement updates to address gaps or inconsistencies in the design system.

4. Copy Ownership

  • Own the clarity, tone, and engagement of user-facing copy in your designs.

  • Replace placeholder content with meaningful, concise, and user-friendly text.

5. Proactive Collaboration

  • Partner with shapers, engineers, and stakeholders throughout the shaping and build cycles.

  • Share progress frequently and seek feedback to align goals and address challenges early.

  • Engage in problem discovery to understand user workflows, constraints, and goals.

6. Holistic Experience Review

  • Regularly review and refine the overall user experience to maintain alignment with product goals.

  • Suggest improvements to previous features when introducing new workflows or navigation.

7. Edge Case and UX States Management

  • Address all UX states, including loading, error, and empty states, ensuring seamless interactions.

  • Cover every user scenario to create a comprehensive and intuitive design experience.

Key Decisions and Credibility

  • Define the visual and experiential direction of features based on user goals and product constraints.

  • Identify when adjustments to existing navigation or workflows are needed for coherence.

  • Prioritize updates to the design system to maintain consistency and scalability.

What You Need on Day 1 to Be Successful

Mindset:

  • User-centric with a strong sense of ownership over the experience.

  • Collaborative, seeking feedback from technical and business stakeholders.

  • Proactive in identifying potential issues and proposing solutions.

  • Detail-oriented and committed to delivering pixel-perfect designs.

  • Holistic thinker, regularly evaluating the product's overall user experience.
