Tooling Manufacturing Engineer

Vast is looking for a Tooling Manufacturing Engineer to support the development of systems for artificial-gravity human-rated space stations. Join a committed team focused on space exploration.

Responsibilities

  • Own the fabrication of fixtures and tooling for Haven-1 assembly
  • Collaborate on fixture and tooling specifications with engineering and production
  • Develop operation and maintenance plans for test fixtures and tooling
  • Assist in project implementation as needed
  • Manage schedule on assigned projects, including critical next steps and deadlines
  • Manage vendor relationships to identify new technologies
  • Develop and implement tool improvements for time savings or tolerance improvements
  • Coordinate tooling modifications and track engineering changes
  • Oversee recovery strategies when issues are identified
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives

Education

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
