Job Description

Responsible for the accurate testing of software used by insurance market professionals. Works under limited supervision and helps direct the work of more junior QA Analysts.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Gradually performs manual testing in more complex areas across the application.
  • Able to own small-to-medium features with guidance from test case design through implementation to completion.
  • Capable of designing moderately complex test cases.
  • Conducts exploratory testing to find promptly defects.
  • Provides accurate estimates for themselves and others.
  • Identifies solutions to issues blocking testing with minimal assistance.
  • Reviews test cases executed by less experienced testers.
  • Reviews User Stories, as well as testable requirements providing feedback.
  • Logging and tracking defects of their area.
  • Proactively engages with analysts to get more business knowledge.
  • Participates in sprint planning and retrospective meetings to provide QA perspective.
  • Collaborates with developers to understand new features and potential testing challenges.
  • Assists in creating and maintaining test documentation, including test plans and test strategies.
  • Mentors junior QA testers and provides guidance on testing best practices.
  • Contributes to the continuous improvement of QA processes and methodologies.
  • Any other duties commensurate to the grade of the role.

  • Experience: Proven track record in similar roles.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to tackle complex business scenarios.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of precision in work.
  • Insurance Knowledge: Familiarity with insurance business processes.
  • Communication: Ability to clearly articulate complex issues.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in SQL scripting, SQL server, and data modeling.
  • Creativity: Innovative approach to new and challenging situations.
  • Problem-Solving: Learning from experience to identify potential problems and solutions.
  • Task Management: Prioritizing tasks
