lead the development and implementation of long-term IT strategies to support the organizational goals of our organization. Your responsibilities include budget management, vendor relationships, and acting as a key point of contact between IT and other departments. You will oversee the following areas: Linux System administration, DevOps, IT Support, information security, database administration.
Strategic Planning: Develop and implement long-term strategies for IT infrastructure and services to support organizational goals.
Budget Management: Prepare and manage budgets of the Base Tech department, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
Vendor Management: Manage relationships with vendors and service providers to ensure quality and cost-effective services.
Stakeholder Communication: Act as a point of contact between IT departments and other organizational units, ensuring clear and effective communication.
Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize their impact on operations.
Project Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of IT projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
Overseeing the following areas of our IT infrastructure:
System Administration (Linux): Infrastructure Management, Monitoring and Performance, Upgrades and Updates, Backup and Recovery.
DevOps: CI/CD Management, Infrastructure Automation: Collaboration between development and operations teams, Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
IT Support: Help Desk Management, Asset Management, defining the set of tools used by our employees and contractors.
Information Security: Security Policies, Threat Management to mitigate risk, Compliance: relevant security standards and regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA), access Control
Database Administration: Database Management, Data Integrity, Performance Tuning, Database Security.
Team Leadership:
Oversee the day-to-day activities of sub-teams and team leads ensuring their productivity and professional development.
Set performance goals, team policies & processes and conduct performance evaluations.
Active involvement in the recruitment of team members.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of Linux system administration, DevOps, IT support, information security, and database administration. In details what we expect you to have experience with:
Virtualized and cloud environments.
Linux systems, particularly RHEL based distributions.
Server and network infrastructure, hardware, software, security and databases.
Configuring and maintaining servers, workstations, network equipment, and databases.
System performance monitoring, analysis, and issue resolution.
Containerization and orchestration technologies.
Automation tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
Kubernetes
Security best practices, data protection, and disaster recovery.
Experience working with complex high availability systems
Proven leadership experience in a managerial or Team Lead role; leading a Team of min. 15 people.
Adaptability: ability to adapt to rapidly changing technologies and business needs.
Strategic Thinking: visionary approach to aligning IT strategies with organizational goals.
Problem-Solving: excellent problem-solving abilities to address complex technical and operational challenges.
Communication: effective communication skills to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
Ability to work collaboratively in a remote team environment.
Bonus: experience with proxying TCP and HTTP-based applications.
