We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Data Stewardship Lead to join our data governance team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for maintaining the quality, integrity, and consistency of enterprise data, with a specific focus on master data management using Informatica MDM and the effective application of Business Rule Management Systems (BRMS). You will be a central figure in issue resolution and cross-functional collaboration, ensuring that data assets are properly managed and optimized to support business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Data Stewardship Efforts: Take ownership of data stewardship processes across the organization, with a particular focus on customer, vendor, and product master data domains.
  • Manage Informatica MDM Operations: Implement and oversee MDM workflows, data models, match/merge rules, and hierarchy management using Informatica MDM. Monitor data load activities and ensure the health of MDM jobs.
  • Leverage BRMS for Governance: Apply Business Rule Management Systems to define, manage, and execute business rules and validations, ensuring data complies with internal policies and regulatory standards.
  • Issue Resolution: Identify, investigate, and resolve data quality issues through root cause analysis and partnership with business and technical teams. Escalate critical data anomalies and track resolutions.
  • Collaboration Across Teams: Act as a bridge between data governance, business units, IT, and other stakeholders. Facilitate collaboration to define data standards, naming conventions, and stewardship roles and responsibilities.
  • Monitoring & Reporting: Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to monitor data quality KPIs and MDM system performance. Provide regular updates to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain documentation on data definitions, business rules, data flows, and stewardship processes to support knowledge sharing and compliance.
  • Mentorship & Guidance: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior stewards and team members, fostering a culture of data responsibility and ownership across the organization.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in data stewardship, data quality management, or a similar role.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Informatica MDM, including configuration, hierarchy management, and match/merge rules.
  • Solid understanding of Business Rule Management Systems (BRMS) and their application in data governance and validation.
  • Proven track record in issue resolution, with the ability to perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions efficiently.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a strong emphasis on team collaboration and stakeholder management.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a passion for data quality, consistency, and usability.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in data governance frameworks or tools such as Collibra or Informatica Axon.
  • Familiarity with data privacy regulations like GDPR or CCPA.
  • Experience in industries with complex data ecosystems, such as finance, healthcare, or retail.
