ORGANIZATION SUMMARY

World Relief is a global Christian humanitarian organization whose mission is to boldly engage the world’s greatest crises in partnership with the church. The organization was founded in the aftermath of World War II to respond to the urgent humanitarian needs of war-torn Europe. This position is reliant upon funding and may be subject to modification or termination based on resource availability.



POSITION SUMMARY:

World Relief seeks an Immigrant Family Services (IFS) Admin Specialist. This position is crucial for ensuring the smooth and effective operation of the World Relief Front Office in DuPage County. You will be responsible for greeting and assisting visitors and callers with Immigrant Family Services inquiries, providing administrative support, and coordinating referrals for walk-in clients. ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • General Front Office Administrative Tasks
  • Answer all client questions by phone or in person and direct when appropriate to World Relief staff 
  • Follow proper opening/closing protocols for the office 
  • Manage inbound and outbound mail including postage & updating mailboxes for staff
  • Help managing inbound and outbound E-faxes 
  • Participate in Operations Team departmental meetings (Once a month) 
  • Participate in World Relief Chicagoland staff training and activities  Immigrant Family Services Tasks:
  • Send clients bios to staff and add new cases to arrival spread sheet 
  • Create case notes in Microsoft Dynamics database
  • Document arrival of Employment cards and Social Security cards for clients in Dynamics and scan and upload copies to the electronic file 
  • Update cases in Dynamics with newborn and other information
  • Create and maintain the weekly collaborative client tracking agenda 
  • Update internal tracking systems for tasks
  • Perform interpreter management tasks as needed
  • Occasional interpretation as needed by different departments 
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor


JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Mature and personal Christian faith

  • Desire to serve and empower the Church to impact vulnerable communities
  • Able to affirm and/or acknowledge World Reliefs Core Beliefs, Statement of Faith, Christian Identity and National Evangelicals For the Health of The Nation document
  • Ability to communicate fluently in verbal and written English
  • Ability to perform job duties in a busy work environment 
  • Ability to multi-task or switch between tasks quickly   
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and flexibility to work in a frequently changing environment
  • Highly organized and a self-starter able to take ownership of projects 
  • Cross-cultural experience working with diverse populations and cross-cultural communication skills 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel 
  • Reliable and punctual 
  • Valid driver’s license


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics or similar database preferred
  • Strong organizational skills, details oriented, and a team player is strongly preferred 
  • Ability to handle large call volume 
  • A desire to serve immigrant communities
  • Strong self-starter skills and a desire to learn and grow 
  • Bi-lingual in Arabic, Ukrainian, Spanish, Swahili, Russian or other major languages WR clients speak is strongly preferred
  • Minimum commitment of 1.5 years in the position preferred


$21 - $23 an hour
