ORGANIZATION SUMMARY

World Relief is a global Christian humanitarian organization whose mission is to boldly engage the world’s greatest crises in partnership with the church. The organization was founded in the aftermath of World War II to respond to the urgent humanitarian needs of war-torn Europe. Since then, for 80 years, across 100 countries, World Relief has partnered with local churches and communities to build a world where families thrive and communities flourish.


Today, organizational programming focuses on humanitarian and disaster response, community strengthening and resilience, and refugee & immigrant services and advocacy.



This position is reliant upon funding and may be subject to modification or termination based on resource availability.



POSITION SUMMARY:

World Relief seeks a Reception and Placement Specialist to provide support, services, and service enrollment assistance to newly arrived refugees as a part of their integration into their new country.



This is a limited-term position funded through April 30, 2025 and contingent upon funding extension.


ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide community orientation, advice, and assistance in addressing basic needs
  • Perform home visits and evaluations during service period
  • Maintain regular communication with clients through phone calls, emails, and office visits
  • Assist refugees with appointments and other health related appointments
  • Assist clients in creating budgets and provide basic financial information
  • Work to ensure client enrollment to public benefits (as applicable), enrollment in ESL classes, and encourage clients to engage in further integration programs and legal services
  • Assist clients in creating individualized service plans that map out the completion of core services
  • Maintain and complete detailed and accurate records of client files, case notes, and reporting records in a timely manner
  • Encourage participants to work towards self-sufficiency and early employment (if applicable)
  • Identify and address barriers to successful resettlement and integration
  • Operate as a cultural broker between volunteers, church groups, service providers, and refugees
  • Complete reports and other tasks related to the Reception and Placement Program as needed


JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Mature and personal Christian faith
  • Committed to the mission, vision, and values of World Relief
  • Desire to serve and empower the Church to impact vulnerable communities
  • Able to affirm and/or acknowledge World Reliefs Core Beliefs, Statement of Faith, Christian Identity and National Evangelicals For the Health of The Nation document
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as client’s needs change
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable access to an insured vehicle required (Position is based in Dallas Office, but travel around the DFW Metroplex is required)
  • Must be able to pass a background check and MVR check
  • Experience in Microsoft software including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Up to 50% domestic local travel only required


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Demonstrated understanding of case management processes - extremely detailed orientated and excellent time management skills
  • Bi-lingual desired (e.g., Dari, Pashto, Arabic, Kirundi, Swahili, Spanish)
  • Skill and sensitivity working with people from various backgrounds and beliefs
  • Ability to work well on a team in a synergistic work environment, a flexible and motivated team player
  • Undergraduate degree preferred
  • Previous case management experience preferred
  • Previous professional experience in social services sector strongly preferred


$22 - $22 an hour
Compensation is commensurate with experience.
