Talent Partner - 6 month FTC

About 9fin

The world's largest asset class, debt, operates with the worst data.

Technology has revolutionized equity markets with electronic trading, quant algos and instantaneous news. However, in debt capital markets, the picture is completely different. It still behaves like it’s in the 1980s; trillions of dollars of trades are placed over the phone, news is slow, and corporate credit information is imperfect and scattered.

Our mission is to change this.

9fin's proprietary technology delivers fast and comprehensive financial, credit, legal & ESG analysis. Our clients are able to make faster, more informed decisions, win more business and most importantly, save time.

Our fast growing list of clients include 9 of the top 10 Investment Banks, leading Asset Managers, Hedge Funds and Law Firms.

The role

We are looking for a superstar Talent Partner to join our high performing team in New York. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to 9fin’s future success as we look to significantly increase our Commercial capability in record time.

Working alongside another Talent Partner based in NY and supported by the Director of Talent, you’ll be a key part of a lean, high performing team, responsible for hiring across our Sales & Content teams globally.

  • 2+ years of experience recruiting for fast growing, product-led companies, experience with content (financial journalism, legal analyst roles) and GTM roles a plus.

  • Experience working closely with senior stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor on talent strategies, advising on role requirements, compensation structures, and team dynamics.

  • Proven ability to source, engage, and recruit high-quality candidates through multiple channels, including job boards, social media, networking, and referrals.

  • Comfortable using recruitment tools and applicant tracking systems and interpreting data to improve processes and outcomes. Bonus points if you’ve used Ashby before!

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with candidates and hiring managers at all levels and maintain attention to detail when juggling multiple priorities.

  • You’re a self-starter who is comfortable working with high levels of autonomy, experience working across multiple time zones a plus.

  • You enjoy working cross-functionally with other members of the People team and wider 9fin community, getting involved in D&I initiatives, refining our processes, and leveraging our internal networks.

What you’ll work on

Every day is different, but here’s an example of the kind of things you’ll work on:

  • Lead the full recruitment process, including job postings, candidate sourcing, resume screening, interview coordination, and offer negotiation for our content and commercial teams.

  • Collaborate closely with senior leadership and hiring managers to understand strategic hiring needs and ensure alignment between recruitment efforts and business goals.

  • Proactively source and engage passive candidates through a variety of channels (e.g., LinkedIn, referrals, job boards) and build a talent pipeline for future hiring needs.

  • Conduct interviews to assess candidates' skills, qualifications, values fit, and potential for success in content or commercial roles. Provide hiring managers with actionable feedback to aid decision-making.

  • Stay informed about talent trends and competitive landscape in editorial, credit, legal and sales, and use this knowledge to influence talent strategies and improve recruitment outcomes.

  • Promote 9fin’s employer brand by communicating our mission, values, and culture to candidates.
