AdvisaCare Home Health and Hospice is currently accepting resumes for an enthusiastic, highly driven, people-oriented person to fill the full-time Intake Specialist position at our Charlevoix location! 

This position will allow you to:

We are a Fast-paced environment where No two days are the same

The Intake Specialist is responsible for ensuring that benefit information, initial authorization and patient liability are obtained prior to the clinical staff starting care. This position also includes scheduling of clinical staff and tracking orders and other pertinent documentation from physicians/ referral sources. Utilization of WellSky Agency Manager as EMR platform. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

● Validate and document all payor information such as patient name, DOB etc .in the Wellsky system. 

● Daily/ continuous monitoring of orders needing sent to physicians and follow-up with physician offices as necessary. 

● Assist intake department, discharge planners and referral sources with contracted insurance issues and patient placement. 

● Responsible for contacting physician offices or patients for information or to clarify benefits. 

● Scheduling clinical staff once insurance has been verified/ authorization obtained. 

● Ability to think critically and act independently 


Candidate will be required to take On Call on a rotation basis!

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS 

● To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, taking initiative to get the job done with a sense of urgency 

● Knowledge of Medicare 

● Knowledge of WellSky Agency Manager is preferred but not required

● Demonstrates patience, flexibility and cooperative attitude

● Effective verbal and written communication skills with others both internally and externally 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE 

● High school diploma or GED 

● Minimum of one (1) year insurance verification, insurance authorization or medical billing preferred but not required
