Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Construction Project Manager V to be based in San Diego, CA.

Job Duties include:

  • Responsible for the overall management administration to project and assists in establishing project specific objectives and policies. 
  • Provides management and guidance to subordinate managers, enforces company and project policies, and a primary liaison between AECOM and client interface. 
  • Oversees and ensures all facets of the project are constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule through subordinate managers and supervisors. 
  • Responsible for administering the project from the pre-construction budgeting/schedule stage through procurement, shop drawing/coordination development, construction, space turnover and contract closeout. Position has significant profit/loss responsibility for assigned construction project.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in construction project management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role
  • Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale construction projects
  • Ability to interpret plans and specifications and develop detailed reports and memoranda
  • Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, building codes, and safety regulations
  • Familiarity with NAVFAC and Federal Acquisition Regulations
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera P6)
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites
  • Ability to obtain DBIDS access

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Construction Management or Business Administration
  • Professional certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or CCM (Certified Construction Manager)
  • Experience with LEED certification processes
  • Knowledge of BIM (Building Information Modeling) software
  • Familiarity with contract law and construction litigation
  • Experience in risk management and mitigation strategies
  • Proficiency in financial management and cost control
