Federal Director of Business Development and Capture Strategy - Focus on Civilian agencies and DoD Location: Washington D.C. area ideal location, Phoenix, Seattle or Atlanta. 50% Travel Your Impact: As Axon Director of Business Development and Strategy for the Federal Defense and Intelligence market, youre responsible for assisting with the development and execution of business development and capture management for strategic opportunities, initiation, and formation of strategic partnerships to win major opportunities and/or strategically grow the business, long term strategic planning and growth of DOD sales. You will heavily work with and impact every aspect of the Department of Defense, Civilian, and the Intel Community. What You Do: Leads Axon Federal business development strategic initiatives that are consistent with the companys overall strategy, as well as manages multiple business development initiatives concurrently. Developing relationships with new and existing Federal clients. Execute capture strategies including but not limited to customer engagement and opportunity shaping, execution of bids and proposals, demos or presentations, etc. Identifying potential partnerships and alliances and negotiating agreements to support new business opportunities. Establish and execute customer contact plans, strengthen customer relationships, determine key decision makers, and to capture pertinent customer needs. Works independently to pursue development of new business prospects and win major strategic opportunities. Establish and drive marketing campaign plans for Civilian agencies, DoD and Intel market with messaging and themes for tradeshows, conferences, publications, etc. Provide accurate and timely long-term forecasting of business. What You Bring: Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience. Must pass a Criminal Justice Information Service (CJIS) background check and maintain CJIS clearance. Handle confidential and highly sensitive information. A minimum of 5 Years in business development for federal sales with emphasis in opportunity capture management and proposal development. Experience using Salesforce as a CRM. Experience working with and understanding of Federal Defense and Intelligence markets and customers (DHS & DoJ preferred). Extensive knowledge of federal acquisition regulations and federal government budgeting processes. Clear, concise, and direct communication skills briefing senior business executives and customers. Ability to provide accurate long-range forecasting of revenues, orders and margin for the Federal Defense and Intelligence market. The Pay: The compensation for this role is made up of uncapped commissions and a starting base pay between USD 161,000 in the lowest geographic market and USD 288,000 in the highest geographic market. On average, the national commissions target for this role is 350,000 USD. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as experience, training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and geographic market demands and often a combination of all these factors.
