Expanded Learning Program Assistant (Ruth Acty Elementary)

We are seeking committed and passionate After School Program Assistant to design and/or lead academic, physical, and enrichment activities as part of our East Bay After School Programs. Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must have an (a) Associate Degree or higher, or (b) 48 or more college units, or (c) High School Diploma or GED and pass Instructional Aide exam
  • 1-2 years experience in a K-12 setting
  • Available Monday - Friday, 30 hours per week, afternoons until 6 pm
  • Commitment to social justice, youth leadership and development
  • Be able to maintain confidentiality and handle multiple priorities and strict deadlines
  • Must pass a criminal background check
  • Must provide a negative TB clearance

Preferred:

  • Commitment to a full school year
  • Commitment to participate in professional development

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Program Coordinator in all aspects of the day-to-day operation of the program at the school site
  • Support program coordinator in supervision and safety of the program
  • Create, plan, and facilitate engaging enrichment and physical activities for students
  • Promote a safe and positive emotional climate in the classroom and on the campus
