Job Description

The Remote Inside Sales Representative (Machine Control) will play a critical role in driving sales growth by focusing on Machine Control systems and solutions, building strong customer relationships, and ensuring a seamless sales process. This role requires in-depth knowledge of Machine Control technologies and their applications in construction and related industries. The Inside Sales Representative will collaborate with Account Management, Customer Success, and other teams to meet customer needs and contribute to the success of Benchmark. This role reports directly to the VP of Sales & Marketing.

Position Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Customer Engagement: Respond to inbound inquiries and proactively reach out to potential customers particularly those in need of Machine Control systems and solutions, via phone, email, and other communication channels.

  • Product Knowledge: Maintain a comprehensive understanding of Machine Control systems, including components, software, and industry applications, and provide tailored recommendations to customers based on their specific project requirements and operational challenges.

  • Sales Process: Guide customers through the sales process,  with a strong emphasis on Machine Control solutions, from initial contact to order fulfillment, ensuring a positive customer experience.

  • Order Management: Accurately process orders for Machine Control systems and related equipment, coordinating with the operations team to ensure timely delivery of products.

  • Relationship Building: Cultivate long-term relationships with customers in the Machine Control sector, fostering trust and loyalty to drive repeat business. 

  • Collaboration: Work closely with Customer Success and Account Management to provide seamless support for Machine Control clients, sharing insights and updates to ensure consistent service. 

  • Problem Solving: Address and resolve customer issues or concerns in promptly and professionally, escalating complex technical challenges to the appropriate teams. 

  • Sales Reporting: Track and report on sales metrics, including pipeline management, customer feedback, and market trends to inform strategy.

  • Continual Learning: Stay updated on industry trends, product developments, and competitive offerings to provide the most current and relevant solutions to customers. 

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent industry experience;  Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field preferred.

  • Extensive knowledge of Machine Control components, functionality, and applications in construction and related industries.

  • 1 - 3 years proven experience in an inside sales role,  with a focus on Machine Control, construction equipment, or a related industry. 

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain customer relationships. 

  • Proficient in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • A Problem solving mindset with the ability to handle customer inquiries effectively.
