No matter the location, we tailor our experience to ensure our employees are creative, productive, and happy.The RoleThe North American Mid-Market Account Management team at Block is responsible for driving post-sales revenue to Block’s core businesses (Afterpay, Cash App) through commerce, giving our Merchant partners access to the largest and most engaged network of next generation consumers.We are looking for a high-energy, dynamic and strategic Mid-Market Account Manager to build and execute the strategy behind Block’s post-sales revenue expansion for some of our largest merchants. The core purpose of the Mid-Market group is to grow and retain the Mid-Market portfolio, which will meaningfully impact Block’s business by increasing gross profit/revenue, delivering new customers, and signaling the Afterpay & Cash App brand strength to the market.As Mid-Market Account Manager you will be responsible for managing a book of business of strategic accounts. Beyond ultimately being responsible for revenue outcomes across your portfolio, you will be responsible for deepening relationships and ensuring long-term mutual success and retention.This role requires a strategic problem solver who is an effective influencer with a high degree of business acumen. They thrive in challenging, fast-paced environments and have a passion for driving creative solutions and developing others. The ideal candidate has demonstrated excellence in account management or sales at the Mid-Market level, leadership, data driven decision making, and a dedication to continuous improvement.You Will• Be the Voice of Block: Represent Block to top-tier Mid-Market Merchants as a thought-leader in the payments landscape and demonstrate Block’s value as a growth driver for our commerce partners• Quarterback Deals: Be responsible for complex negotiations (expansions & renewals) and execution for the Block organization through methodical deal management based on milestone tracking, KPIs, and partner alignment on opportunities of mutual interest• Craft Account Strategy: Develop and pitch powerful narratives that educate prospective partners of Block’s value proposition. Effectively communicate with senior decision makers at the largest brands in the world.• Be a Team Player: Partner closely with cross-functional teams to drive deals forward, including Sales, Marketing, Finance, Product, Risk, Legal, Operations, Customer Service; and with external partners’ cross-functional executives• Build Block’s Network: Develop and grow Block’s relationships with leading brands, including their senior executives. Represent Block at industry events, trade shows and networking functions.• Develop Meaningful Cross-Functional Partnerships: Work closely with cross-functional teams to better support your team in driving merchant growth, including Marketing, Finance, Product, Risk, Legal, Operations, Customer Service.• Be the Voice of the Merchant: Represent the Voice of the Merchant by aggregating and delivering key insights across the organization in a structured, consistent, and proactive manner.You Have• 5+ years experience in high-growth environments in a business development, sales, account management, GTM or strategy role, preferably in a fast-moving technology or financial services company• Strong executive presence, with demonstrated ability to influence and earn trust with senior leaders, ask the right questions, and use sound business judgment internally and externally at large companies, including at the C-suite level• A self-starter mentality, where leaning in and wearing multiple hats in a fast-paced, often ambiguous environment is business-as-usual• A hunger to problem solve with analytical rigor.
